About this listen

No Romance. No Harem. Just Vampires.

Becoming a knockoff Dracula in tight leather pants was never part of Vincent’s plans. Neither was being summoned to another world by a cult of vampire wannabes. But both happened.

Now, Vincent’s left to pick up the tattered pieces of his humanity as he tries to grow strong enough to keep his family safe. The world is filled with nightmares, and the looming threat of losing his soul stands between his goal and his reality, so it’s not like it will be too hard or anything.

Hell should tremble.

A good man is going to war.

Excellent book. The characters are so entertaining and funny and I love how they interact with each other. The story is brilliant and I was reluctant to stop listening even for a moment. Benjamin Kerei is the perfect voice for the job and I can’t wait to hear the next book.

Love this book

It's well narrated. The story is pretty linear and it's funny some times. It's filled with clichés and the dash to over powered is too quick. can't wait for the next one.

I enjoyed it

I'm going to be honest when I hear of a vampire character, I'm always a bit hesitant, there are a lot and they are used to variety of different standards. Then I realised who the author was and it was a must buy, safe to say I wasn't disappointed.

Benjamin has a habit of studying the tropes he wants to use and then building on them, pulling all the potential from a theme and breathing life (un-life) into it. This was no exception, what I initially considered would be a lone vampire story with minions, turned out in part to be a father-son bonding story. Highly recommend and an easy purchase.

I was hesitant at first

Love the humor and action from the first word to the last. And one of the best beginning books i have ever read/listened too.
Performance from the reader is excellent 👏

Loved the story, nice plot well writen, voice of was great done a nice job altering voice for separate characters. Don't have any dislikes but maybe next book could have more blood and gore for that ultimate darkness effect also more discription of destructive abilitys, as it stands sounds like a walk through of dungeons and dragons, was waiting for a dice roll between story switches 🎲❤️

Great time spent.

Bad:
The book felt more like 3 loosely connected flash backs rather than the first book in a new series.

Good:
This is my new example of OP done right. Author knows exacly what this type of story is and capitalises on it instead over complicating things.
MC is funny and feels belevebel with any inconsistencies in priority or behaviour esaly being explained away with him being an unholy creature of darkness.
Support carecters are funny if a bit 2d but feels like thers potenchal for future growth. Expecially with his son.

General:
Like his Oh grate I was reincarnated as a farmer series Benjamin Kerei delivers a great new book promising adventure and shenanigans whist poking fun at several tropes and stereotypes of the GameLit ganera.

OP MC done right

I expected little from this story but actually got a very good story with interesting characters It was funny but not written as comedy. It was not heavy on the stat based aspect but more story orientated. The narration was very good and overall an excellent book in its field. So if you like these type of books then certainly give this one a listen.

Funny but not silly

Good character depth and a fun story. Looking forward to the next book. Hoping it spices itself up and becomes a bit less mainstream nice guy protects family routine. It’s not particularly dark or mysterious vampire and more generic dad finds himself in a strange world has some powers. - which is a little flat when the cover suggests it might be about more about vampires. But that said it’s an entertaining listen if not scary - very much pg 12 audience.

A refreshing take on the tried and tested genre
