About this listen
When Edward Townes - famed writer of novels about knights and maids, and castles and conquering - attends a medieval launch party for his latest book, he arrives ready to do more than celebrate. But party night brings a blizzard, a once-in-a-century storm that sees Townes staggering home, alone... only to be found dead the next day. With Cherringham cut-off and the blizzard still raging, Jack and Sarah start investigating. Their questions reveal that many of those still stranded in the dark village have secrets. And Townes' killer is still in the village...
Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.
Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and - most recently - the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.
The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in 'Midsomer Murders' and 'Jim Riley' in 'The Life of Riley'. He is also known for his film roles in 'The Nativity', 'Sorted' and 'Son of Rambow'. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as 'Norman Birkett' on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

Moving to Cherringham
Despite the murders I love my visits to Cherringham and want to move there! Superbly written; you can picture yourself living there and having Sarah and Jack as friends. Meeting up at Huffington's for coffee and discussing the latest case. Could listen to one a month! Love this series and outstanding narration.

Love it!!
What a wonderfully atmospheric and gripping story. I just love Cherringham and always delight in being re-acquainted with Jack and Sarah. Having listened to all the stories, I feel I have watched Sarah's children grow up and been at Jack's side as he settled into the world of a Cotswold village after traumatic times in NYC.
As always, Neil Dudgeon offers a wonderful narration and I could not listen to anyone else telling these stories now.
Please keep the stories coming and could there possibly be a little romance on the horizon?

Another great story
I absolutely love these stories I’ve listened to the whole 44 over and over again. It’s not just the main storylines but all the added bits about everybody’s lives.
What I also think is great are the final chapters/ epilogues when Jack and Sarah sit talking over a cup of tea/dinner talking about the case and filling in all the little details. So well done to Matthew and Neil. I can’t begin to imagine what I’m going to do when the Cherringham series finally ends. I sincerely hope it’s not going to be anytime soon and credit also has to go to Neil Dudgeon who reads them superbly. The different voices and relaxed manner of his reading make them all such a joy to listen too. I really cannot praise these books enough. I love them dearly.
