About this listen
At sixteen, I felt I would always be a misfit. Popularity had eluded me, and I was pretty much a loner by choice. My world existed on the internet; gaming, and chat rooms were my escape, because there, my anonymity was my shield. Known only by my handle, D-10, I fit in with the others, and met some phenomenal virtual friends. One special friend in fact was Dastardly Damned. We clicked. We gamed online, and finally we made plans to meet at a local hangout for gamers.
Only I never saw his face.
I never saw what was coming.
My life would never be the same.
And Dastardly Damned would pay!

Great story!
Andrea Smith has the ability to drag you into a story as if you’re part of it. Dirty Diana is no exception. It’s an intense, suspenseful story and it captivated me from the first minute to the last. I felt for Diana and what she had to endure. But what an ending. I loved it!
The narrator, Alexander Cendese, did a great job giving a voice to the various characters. He really brought the story to life. I just couldn’t stop listening!

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Engrossing & Intense!
Wow, this story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end. It is a well written and fast-paced story that is original and thought provoking. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Diana Webster, a 10th grade loner, almost 16 years old, knew she would never be popular in school like her older brother, which she was ok with. She found her escape online in a gaming room where she played and chatted with other gamers. That was where she met Dastardly Dan and they quickly became friends and agreed to meet each other at the Game Cave’s Halloween party. They never exchanged real names with each other but would when they meet in person, which she was looking forward to. But that night turned out to be her nightmare, a nightmare she survived but forever changed her life and not in a good way. Her life spiraled out of control after that and two years later she went on a mission to get revenge and her life back. She is sure her plan will draw out Dastardly Dan, who was never identified or captured, except her plan does not go off without a hitch and backfires in her face. Thank goodness for the friend she met at the halfway house, Julian, who she opened up to and became tight with, and they both wind up freeing each other of their inner (and outer) demons. This is novella sized book packs a lot of punch, powerful ones, it is a cleverly plotted story with plenty of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions, and even a little romance.
🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Andrea Smith cast the perfect narrator to bring her characters and their story to life. Alexander Cendese is a wonderfully talented narrator and a versatile voice artist, he did a great job covering both he male and female roles. He had a complete understanding of the characters he portrays, giving each a voice that suited that character’s persona and was believable in every role he played, including Diana. He set the perfect tone for the story, captures all the characters’ emotions and projects them into his performance and had you feeling every single one. Cendese is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to, his narration enhances an already great story to another level. Thank you for another great listen.

So incredibly good like hide from the family just to listen to this one in full. I loved the characters and how incredibly deep the story was especially with how short the book was. Grabs your attention and doesn't let go!
This may be short, but it certainly packs a punch! Andrea Smith writes a psychological thriller that is relevant and exciting. Diana is a loner, finding her social life online as a gamer. She befriends a fellow gamer and they decide to meet. Little does she know it will change her life. Now two years later, Diana is still recovering, and now is seeking her revenge. Drawing out her attacker is sure to give her the piece of mind she is looking for. But is she on point with her targets? This is a story is that is so raw, and so real it's scary. Smith writes with a spec of romance, but a whole lot of pain, angst, mystery and a twist we don't see coming. I love everything about this one and could not have enjoyed it more.
Alexander Cendese is a narrator who understands Andrea Smith and her stories. He grabs hold of this emotionally driven story and creates characters that we can understand and relate too and then draw us into the monster we meet. He is fantastic and made this listen incredible.

Dirty Diana (audiobook)
This is such a good story and one I wasn't expecting. Diana is a survivor of a horrific assault. Instead of being seen as a victim, she decides to get revenge. She definitely goes about it the wrong way. However, it truly brings to light the devastating effects that assaults have on the victims and the negative ways they could potentially deal with it. Diana slashes out and pushes away the help she needs until someone finally breaks through to her. It's then that she realizes she has to deal with it on an emotional level and stop her self destructive behaviors. Unfortunately, she will have to fight one last time when she comes face to face with her assailant. She may not have been prepared, but this time, she's much stronger and determined to survive again.
Excellent job by the narrative as well. At first I thought he was reading too fast, but as the story progressed I could truly see it as Diana's personality, full of anxiety, nervousness, and energy. It made listening very interesting. He distinguished between the characters very well. Good listen!

A reminder of the perils youngsters face online
Holy moly! What a story. A story full of surprises and suspense. Heartbreaking. Crude. Vengeful. I was hooked. Of course the fact that Andrea Smith wrote, paired with Alexander Cendese narrating, all made for a truly entertaining read. Not a story for the faint hearted. Diana was raped at the age of 15, and the story follows Diana as she comes to terms with her situation, and as she drifts away from her family and forms new friendships. Unwilling to become a victim again, she swears revenge, and is set on finding her attacker. The question is, will her attacker find her first? Her life choices aren’t the best, and it broke my heart that she degraded herself, I was happy she had at least one person she could rely on. Alexander Cendese always puts in 100% whilst performing, and he really brings this story to life. He’s fun, he’s emotional, and he can perfectly narrate each and every character in a story. I love his voice.
