Dirty Tactics by Peyton Banks is the first book in the Special Weapons and Tactics series. It is a relatively quick book to listen to and one that is easy to get lost in. The story started strong and drew my attention pretty quickly. I thought Sarena was an entertaining character and I liked her feistiness that came across strong. I also really liked Marcus. The two of them worked well together and seemed well suited.
My only issue is that the story didn’t continue quite as strong as it started. It felt like it was all a little rushed – the events all happening within the space of a couple of weeks – which meant some of the detail had been skipped. I think it would have been better served to draw the story out a bit more, flesh it out and have it last a bit longer. That being said I did enjoy the story and I wanted to know what was going to happen.
Peyton Banks is still a pretty new author to me but I have enjoyed everything I had read so far. I am looking forward to my next audio book by her.

liked this story however I found it a very slow place. The voice over in this audio unfortunately didn't do it for me I could not hear there passion. Sarena is a strong, independent unqunie lady. Its quick and witty but I feel thier could of been more substance to this book hopefully this is increased in the next book.

Dirty Tactics is an excellent story about two capable and strong-willed characters. Marcas (Mac) is a definition of alpha, an ex-military, and a decorated S.W.A.T. team commander. Sarena, a nurse with a take-charge attitude, who secretly has been wanting Mac for a while. Both characters have a pretty heated connection with an off the charts chemistry. The storyline is entertaining and steamy with action and suspense.

The narration by Wen Ross and Trei Taylor is superb. Both did a fantastic job portraying the characters, particularly their passion for each other. I can't wait for the rest of the series to be released.

When I looked over to my new neighbour my heart picked up, he is so alpha male it just oozes from him. When Mac first saw his new neighbour running he can't get her out of his mind but his job is dangerous and does he really want to put Serena is danger.

Mac is an elite SWAT commander and his alpha male sexiness is always in the for front but Mac is always wary regarding his love life as he is always a target and would not want to put anyone else in that world.

Serena has seen her hot neighbour and fantasise about having just on night with him but when an encounter where she worked rouses more that anger within Serena she then tries to get closer to this sexy man.

This story explodes from the first words spoken, the story is brilliant and although I did feel at times that the character of Serena was out of character with some of the interactions with Mac I still enjoyed the overall chemistry between these two characters.

I did enjoy the narrators who I felt gave these characters a great voice and personality, I will definitely be listening to more stories in this series.

This book has every thing you should want in a fast paced military/police romance, hot police officers, alpha male tendencies, curvy strong women and a situation that forces them to face a future they didn't envisage. However it just didn't quite pan out for me.

Marcus is SWAT officer, convinced his lifestyle isn't suitable for relationships. Sarena is a strong willed ER nurse who would love to find the right man a settle down. The two are neighbours who have been keeping an eye on each other, but neither makes a move, until Marcus walks up to Sarena and tells her he's going to sleep with her and she says OK. There is no build up or flirting, it's literally the first conversation they have.

I just didn't feel any building up of a relationship with these two characters, they went from instant sexual attraction, to 'willing to die for the other' in a matter of a couple of dates.

The book almost felt like it was in two parts. The first being an erotic romance, the second an action romance and I would have loved to have seen more of a merge.

I enjoyed the action element to the story and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into it, but the romance (or lack of romance), just fell flat to me.

The duel narration was good and really helped to move between the duel POV. I'd gladly listen to either again.

Overall, I really enjoyed this audio book. The narration was good, it was easy to listen to and I liked the story. I always thought I would find it harder to connect with characters in an audio book but I definitely didn’t in this one. I liked Marcus and Sarena, he was definitely an alpha male – I loved that about him and I really liked Sarena too, I don’t always like the sweet and innocent female lead but I couldn’t help but think she was nice and definitely perfect for Marcus (in my opinion) – she did have a little bit of sass about her though!

Peyton Banks is a new to me author and I am definitely looking forward to listening/reading more of her stories!

The first half of the story was pretty much just steamy scenes with the last half where more of a storyline came in. In the end, I did like the story, though I felt like Peyton Banks' Trust and Honor series was a little more balanced with the story. If you're in it for the steamy scenes, then this one's for you.

The narration was excellent. I'm familiar with Wen Ross, though Trei Taylor was a new narrator for me. I definitely enjoyed the story more because of the narration.
