About this listen
What dreams may come....
Mulberry is a three-story Victorian in the Hamptons, the perfect summer retreat for the Bradley family. Forty years ago a family was murdered in the house. Now, the bloodstains have been washed away, and the grisly killings are just a chilling local legend. But something unseen still waits in the shadowed hallways and antique furnished bedrooms.
For psychiatrist Bert Bradley, his wife Alice, budding teens Stacey and Richard, and innocent five-year-old Lissie, the summer begins with days at the beach and neighborhood cocktail parties. But all is not right in Mulberry. The cellar door won’t stay closed. Lissie wakes screaming with night terrors. Strange, vivid dreams spread like a contagion to all the Bradleys. The sins of the past have never left Mulberry; they are slowly spinning a web around the unsuspecting family. Shocking secrets will soon be revealed and the innocent will be drawn inexorably toward a night of terrifying bloodshed.

Not For The Faint Of Heart
This is horror and sex in every paragraph, no holds barred and not for the squeamish. A great murder story from the best in slasher fiction to incredible scenes of sex to match and better any pulp fiction. An interesting listen with great narration by Jenny Bacon adding to the atmosphere of the novel. The book rewards an adventurous listener. Enjoy.

wow 👌
Disturb Not the Dream is a haunting and provocative novel that masterfully delves into the darkest corners of the human psyche. Written by Babs H. Deal, this book is a shocking and unflinching exploration of twisted family dynamics, forbidden desires, and the haunting specter of long-buried secrets. It is as disturbing as it is mesmerizing, a true testament to Deal’s ability to craft a timeless psychological thriller.
The novel pulls no punches with its unsettling themes, including incestuous undertones and deep familial dysfunction, yet it never veers into gratuitous territory. Every revelation feels earned, serving the plot’s chilling atmosphere and building toward an explosive conclusion. The twists and turns are expertly woven, leaving readers constantly on edge, questioning the motives of every character, and second-guessing every clue. It’s a rare thriller where the shocks are not only unexpected but profoundly meaningful.
The prose is impeccable, balancing a sense of creeping dread with moments of poetic beauty. Deal’s writing is timeless, drawing readers into the unsettling world of the story and refusing to let go until the final, jaw-dropping moments. Her mastery of suspense ensures that even seasoned thriller readers will find themselves enthralled and unnerved.
The narration is another standout feature, immersing the audience in the story with such precision and emotional depth that it feels like a living, breathing nightmare. The characters are complex, flawed, and disturbingly human, making their actions all the more compelling and horrifying.
Disturb Not the Dream is not a book for the faint of heart, but for those who dare to venture into its dark and twisted world, it’s an unforgettable experience. It’s shocking, disturbing, and deeply emotional, yet so well-written that it stands the test of time. Highly recommended for fans of psychological thrillers who crave a story that challenges them, shocks them, and stays with them long after the final page.
