About this listen

It’s been over a year since Cassidy Miller retired from the United States Marine Corps, but try telling that to her nightmares. She knew that coming back after eight years in a war zone wouldn’t be easy, but she’d underestimated the real difficulties of transitioning back to civilian life. War is hell, but the aftermath is endless.

Looking for a fresh start, she’s left her friends and career in Minneapolis to be a police officer in northern Minnesota. It’s in the tiny town of Embarrass where she learns more about Julia Desjardin. The city prosecutor is cool, professional, and untouchable. But she and Cassidy have history, and Cassidy isn’t going to let her easily forget that.

For all their surface differences, Cassidy and Julia have more in common than they first realized - both are reluctant to hand over their pasts to be judged and studied. But it might take someone just as damaged as the other to help each cope with the skeletons in their respective closets.

FANTASTIC. 🎖

I was hooked from the beginning and I loved it.💗
It is a beautiful emotional journey of finding love and learning to live with a difficult traumatic past. The dynamics of these two m/c is fantastic, but it seems that nothing lasts forever, and the present day circumstances is a formidable force to reckon with. Or is it! ❤
Excellent narration.🎶

Couldn't Stop Listrning

At last Don't Call Me Hero is finally on Audible. I really hope that the 2 further booksvin this will also be put on Audible.

At first I couldn't get on with the narrator but I listened to the book all night.

I loved all the characters especially Cassidy, ex-marine, and Julia, District Attorney. Both run in different circles but one thing brings them both together. No spoilers.

Misleading category

I selected this book as it came under the Mystery, thriller suspense category of the LGBT+ category. I think it would have fitted in better with Romance as the mystery part was really incidental. Disappointing from that perspective but otherwise good book.

Great story and brilliant narration

At first I was hesitant about listening due to the odd poor review. I’m so glad I bought it anyway as the story didn’t disappoint. Lori Prince brings life into the narration and I highly recommend following on with the sequel. Now only if a producer would option it and make it into a movie.

a first

although enjoyable and well written, I've never read a book in saphfic where I disliked both MCs
a lawyer and loopholes, or the dumb cop
