About this listen

Xavier's life is hard.

Every day is a struggle. His debt is mounting, his boss is threatening to fire him, and an eviction might be around the corner. But that was about to change. One day, a mysterious lawyer approaches Xavier with promises of fortune and a hidden estate. But is the will real? Did some distant relative really leave him millions of dollars and a mansion?

Desperately needing change, Xavier takes a risk and accepts the offer. He meets with a mysterious woman named Hayley. She claims to help run Ironshire Estate and Xavier's new home.

But something is very different about Hayley. She isn't human...and neither are the other women of Ironshire. As Xavier adapts to his wealth, he learns about dragonesses, a land called Meadow Song, and tales of a powerful sorcerer.

But all is not well. Evil lurks deep within Meadow Song's ruins, waiting patiently for the day to overthrow Ironshire...and Xavier might be the only person to stop it.

Chill Slice of life harem story

At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.

Genre: Inheritance and inner magic unlocked harem slice of life
Power dynamics in harem: The girls have an overwhelming desire for the MC and a duty to train him.
Explicit/adult material: Explicit. Dragon-girls.

Summary:
Xavier Roades has a hard and shitty life. Until one day a man comes and tells him he has inherited a mansion. When he gets there he finds out that not only is he now rich, he is living with 3 gorgeous and seemingly interested dragonnesses. Settling into life in the mansion and getting accustomed to the powers that is starting to wake within him Xavier has his hands full.

Narration
Voice diversity: Good. Characters are easy to recognise from their voice.
Pacing and intonation: The story is well told and intonation is well used, but the pauses between sentences is a bit long for my taste (minor gripe).
Explicit scenes: Very well done.
Overall Narration: 4/5 stars.

The book’s strengths.
- It is great slice of life, focused on the romance and the life of Xavier and his dragonness ladies
- I like the inheritance and dragonness roomates premise
- The scheming between the girls for how to approach the MC is fun
- The narration

The book’s weaknesses.
- Though much time is spend on the group dynamics (which I liked), I would like more time dedicated to getting to know the personality of the individual girls.

Overall: 4.5/5 stars
