Summary

When Trace took a bullet for his wife’s lover, his life ended...but didn’t.

By the divine promise of sacrifice, he awakened an Ash Angel with a new body, new powers, and a new war to fight. Cassandra, his temperamental trainer, tries to get him ready to battle Ghostpackers and Dreads, but it might be too little too late: for the first time in history, the Ash Angels are faltering against the fury of an evil more ancient than they are.

While he fights to survive run-ins with a Sheid-hunted pop star and a gorgeous but dangerous Dread, Trace realizes his new life cannot erase the trauma of the old. Thrust onto the front lines of a violent war with ancient ambition, Trace finds that the deadliest demons are the ones lurking in his own mind.

Brilliant..

Like others I got this because R.C.Bray was narrating it and I’m so glad I did. Excellently paced story. The author really has a distinctive voice.
I can’t wait for the next one.

Pleasant surprise

I chose the book because of R.C Bray. I was unsure due to the potential religious undertones of the story (they do exist but it wasn't an issue). I'm really glad I went for it, I couldn't stop listening. I finished it in 3 days which for a 19hr book with zero commute time is unheard of for me. There is a lot of story here, the author could have easily split it into 2 books I'm so glad they didn't. If you aren't sure because this isn't your usual choice just got for it.

It didn’t capture me at first but after giving it a chance I got hooked and couldn’t stop listening. R C Bray is also fantastic

Once you get into the story and the world of good v evil it is very captivating with interesting twists.

Narrator is one of my favourites and could not be faulted.

enjoyed it

really enjoyed it and look forward to more. I understand it's a religious story but it did get a bit biblical towards the end

Superb writing... even better narration...

This was not my usual cup of tea and i was nearly put off by some of the negative reviews...
The main concern was the reviews of the first 45 mins...
Theres a reason for that...it sort of reminds me of the start of SONS OF ANARCHY ( not the story) as it starts half way through something and is not flowing as you might think it should...but it all comes together after an hour and will grip you as it did me...
so please bear with it ,as i did and a 5 star review is an easy rating....
The writing itself is truly amazing and reminds me so much of SCOTT SIGLER and his blockbusters EARTHCORE and MOUNT FITZ..
RCB is again at his best and deserves his penthouse, ferrari, and yought...
I waited till book 2 was available to download both , which feels like the best option...
I highly recommend the above books along with MOUNTAIN MAN series...

Outstanding story with non-stop action

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The author was unknown to me, but with RC Bray's narration I decided to give a listen. I'm so glad I did!

divine goodness

Wasn't sure I'd get into this book, as I usually go in for sci-fi, but after two chapters I was quite hooked.

The story revolves around a sort of angels and demons dichotomy that isn't too religious or fanatical. The main character is very likeable and the mystery woven into the story unravels at a nice pace. The action and tension is really well laid out and the book is the perfect length in my opinion.

I enjoyed RC Bray's narration immensely, as always, and the content and voice of Bray had me urging on just one more chapter, time and time again. Will eagerly await another installment of the ash angel series. Well worth a listen!!

I was hooked after chapter 2.

Every now and then you pick up a book and start reading and straight away you know. You start smiling and do a mental hi-five. Well this was one of them times.

If you liked the film Constantine this is very much for you! Well writen and defiantly a page turner. The characters are great. Im getting book 2 when it comes out next month!

R C Bray as always was awesome.
