About this listen

He vowed he'd come for her...

Murdered before he could wed Regin the Radiant, warlord Aidan the Fierce seeks his beloved through eternity, reborn again and again into new identities, yet with no memory of his past lives.

She awaits his return...

When Regin encounters Declan Chase, a brutal Celtic soldier, she recognizes her proud warlord reincarnated. But Declan takes her captive, intending retribution against all immortals - unaware that he belongs to their world.

To sate a desire more powerful than death...

Yet every reincarnation comes with a price, for Aidan is doomed to die when he remembers his past. To save herself from Declan’s torments, will Regin rekindle memories of the passion they once shared - even if it means once again losing the only man she could ever love?

Is amazing. He can really bring the book alive and does amazing accents and male/female flips. I think he struggled a little with the Irish accent (his Scottish is much better) but I'm still very impressed.

The book is an old fave, I'd decided to get on audio as well as kindle. Live the IAD series ;-) especially Regin's tale!

Would you consider the audio edition of Dreams of a Dark Warrior to be better than the print version?

yes, Robert Petkoff's voice just transforms these characters that I love so much.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Regin obviously she's mouthy, arrogant and very violent but has a good and caring side hidden beneath all the wise cracks. She made me crack up with her wit and with her actions.

One of her quotes:

He's like six hundred years younger than you are. I refuse to be the moral compass of our cell! Most weekends I have an intoxispell bong attached to my mouth like a respirator. I love scatological humor, and I list 'pranks involving nuclear waste' and 'making demons eat things' as my hobbies.”

What does Robert Petkoff bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

His voice is delicious. He does the accents well with both the female and male parts. His sense of delivery is amazing just the way he pauses and starts again in certain sentences really reflected the writing of the author well. It made me want to read his voice over talents by other authors.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

A few, the vivisection scene brought a lump to my throat.

Dreams of a Dark Warrior - Amazing

I have adored every one of Cole's books I've had the opportunity to read or listen to, each one fraught with suspense, action and sexual tension.

while I adore all of Cole's litany of intriguing characters, I'd be lying to say that Regin and Aidan weren't among my favourites.

Cole is a commander of Suspense

I read this 6 years ago and yet I was still amazed at how Kresley Cole got me to care about a hero who seemed so evil at the beginning.

These MCs aren’t my faves in the series BUT I think they have one of the best stories. As usual, Robert Petkoff elevates the text — his narration makes it feel like you’re part of the story.

Impressive

love this series. love how it's all interlinked. sometime the general plot line is predictable but everyone loves a classic boy meets girl something happens to rock the relationship, love conquers all storyline.

love these books!

I didn't hate the book in its entirety, just the hero and heroine. I loathed Declan and detested Regin. I could of given two hoots about either character and to be honest, was hoping they died. The other characters though, were awesome. Lothaire and Thad were fantastic. Love, love, love Lothaire. There was also the usual humour which had me in stitches.

Robert Petkoff, as usual, was genius. His narration is out of this world. He literally lives and breathes the story. He's spoiled me for any other narrator as I'd have him narrate every audiobook available on Audible.

The worst IAD by a mile
