Excellent Historical Fiction

This series weaves a detailed and believable story around major characters from the time of Julius Caesar and follows them as they move towards Caesars assassination as they grow and develop as people fighting personal as well as military battles along the way

Fantastic

I read this when it was first published and rated it 5 stars as a novel. I t lost none of its power as an audio book. Highly recommended.

Brilliant

Wonderful story it was great to revisit a novel I've read before and Robert Glenister does a splendid job reading it.

Brilliant story, brilliantly told.

I loved this book.
the story was good and followed through a considerable period of a young Gaius Julius Caesar's life, and explains his bond/friendship with Brutus.
The narration is a little hesitant to begin with but, as the story progresses, becomes excellent and fluid.

Recommended by Bernard Cornwell

Since I enjoy Bernard Cornwell's books (though I've not read them all), I am ready to go with his recommendation.
However this story is less compelling that I am used to with Mr Cornwell, and I will be less enthusiastic if I see his recommendation again.

Absolutely brilliant

Conn iggulden takes you away and places you side by side with the characters, it's so well written and read perfectly. if you haven't heard this book yet, you're missing out

Great story, loosely factual

Great story, very good voice acting but don't expect to use much of what you've heard in an argument about Ceasar's life.

Awesome reading

Fantastic reading of a wonderfully written book. So often historical fiction is read by someone dull and monotonous such a gem is great to find!
