About this listen

One split second can destroy your life forever.

Single mother Jen Cornish is just trying to hold things together for the sake of her seven-year-old son Charlie. Until the day when she does an impulsive good deed to help a neighbour, setting off a terrifying chain of events that quickly spirals out of control....

When she is arrested for a crime she didn't commit, Jen quickly starts to wonder if someone is playing a cruel game with her - or is she losing her mind? Desperate to clear her name with the police, she must first untangle a chilling web of lies. But someone is watching her every move - and it isn't just Jen who is in danger. They're watching her child as well.

I Love this Book. It was at first a little slow, but then understandable as the story progressed further.

Jen seems to be a level headed mother and I love how she thinks and deals with the situation she is in. I am so glad it's not one of those story lines where you get frustrated with the character in doing very dumb things.

I would highly recommend this Audio book.

I am interested in listening to another book from this Author

Great Story Line and well Narrated

Great plot, believable characters. There are obvious parts of the story that are rather exaggerated but that's what makes a good story.

Really enjoyed this.

Brilliant book to listen to this is my first audio book and I am looking forward to listening to many more

Easy listening

I can normally get into most books eventually but I literally couldn't leave this book alone. Addicting and leaving me wanting more. Fantastic!

Truly gripping

This was quite good. The narration was extremely dubious at times but most of the characters were very well done. Though it was extremely convoluted and could easily have lost 2-3 hours, I enjoy long listens/reads so I’m not objecting to the length which was only 11-12 hours. But that’s just my opinion. It was still a decent book.

Enjoyable

The narrator is absolutely awful! I just couldn’t listen to the ridiculous character voices … had to give up 🤦‍♀️ 😵‍💫👋

Awful narrator

I really don't understand the good reviews of this book. I have wasted 7 hours of precious life on this and couldn't listen to anymore. Not only is it painfully slow, it is totally unbelievable from start to where I stopped hoping that it would get better. The narrator's male voices are embarrassingly bad, especially the toddler voice she uses for Freddie and over the top attempt to make his dad sound evil. I couldn't return it as it was on a two for one offer so I decided the money I spent was better lost than waste anymore time on this. if I could have given 0 I would, it is that bad!

Truly awful, first audiobook I have given up on

I feel this story lacked suspense; started off well but become rather far fetched by mid way .... ending was disappointing

Weak

Within the first 6 chapters I was finding this hard going but thought it surely must improve, but now at chapter 54, I've given up. Not like me to give up so close to the end lol but I suddenly realised I honestly couldn't care less about any of the characters, not even the kid. It literally goes on and on and on and on and on, a complete yawn fest.
The storyline is completely ridiculous, not just silly but ill thought out and there's a mess of characters that keep getting added to on a regular basis. Out of all the hundreds of books I've listened to during my 10 years plus on audible this has to be in my bottom 5. Sadly it was a freebie from a bogof offer so I don't even have the satisfaction of being able to return it for a new credit, that'll teach me to take more notice of the reviews in future. Seriously don't even bother.

Complete rubbish.
