Without the evil vampire Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, the resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedom, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again. Now Claire can actually concentrate on her studies, and her friend Eve joins the local theatre company. It was good, felt like the book 6 was more action and brought me in more but it was a good listen

It was good...but

After the end of the Bishop story arc, this one seems a bit tame. Also most Young Adult books tend to get more adult as the series progresses but this one seems to be going the other way. With the exception of Michael the characters seem to get less mature and more childish and don’t appear to have learned anything from previous episodes it’s all a bit frustrating. That said if you read the first 6 you will probably find this ok just not as good.

Narration is decent if a bit aimed for younger listeners but that’s no different to previous books

It sets up book 8 which I will probably listen to in a few books time but I can’t say I am in a rush to download
