Summary
When a mission ends in disaster—there is no way to achieve the objective, no way to regroup and try again, no plan B, no hope—all you can do is fall back into FAILURE MODE and try to salvage whatever you can.
...if it is even possible to save anything, or anyone.
The galaxy is doomed. Monkeys may be clever and too stubborn to give up, but Skippy The Idiot Who Got Played knows the harsh truth: this is a fight he can’t win. The odds are not only stacked against him, he was designed not to win this fight.
Maybe he can salvage some faint memory of the civilizations that inhabit the galaxy, but those beings are doomed. Doomed. Including the Merry Band of Pirates.

Awesome
Brilliant ending to a fantastic series of books..this should be a TV show of 10 one hour episodes per book..obviously RC couldn't do everyone voice but he can and definitely should be skippy..apart from one iv enjoyed these books more than i thought possible..action drama and of course humor.
a lot of humor.. as in genuine laugh out loud humour..and hopefully jo and skippy will return and of course many thanks to RC..i don't think that any one else could have brought these books to life like RC did..and if anyone's interested and enjoyed these books like i have..try the Bobiverse books by Dennis E Taylor.

Good fun!
Missing Skippy allready.
The story is coherent and the narrator is exceptionally good. Hope to see Skippy and friends again!

Skippy is even more magnificent.
I absolutely loved this book, it is Skippy and Joe Bishop at their very best. Sketchy, cunning and everything else you expect from them, brilliant!

What a series!
Absolutely loved the series and R.C. Bray's performance. It's bittersweet knowing that there'll be no further Skippy, Joe and the Pirate's adventures, but I can honestly day that I loved every minute of the series.

What do I say?
This is my favourite audio book series ever and I have listened to quite a few. The highs are mountains and rival Mount Everest and the lows rival the Mariana Trench. Another incredible book in the fantastic series known as Expeditionary Force.

I nearly cried ….
…. When the book ended. Expeditionary Force is one of my favourite series and I didn’t want it to end. And weirdly I always kinda knew what the end would be like. In a way it was predictable. There was of course a moment when I thought I was wrong but then I wasn’t.
The story started at bit slow but the last third was brilliant. I don’t share the negative views here in the review about the ending. As I say. I expected it to go this way so in that sense I was happy.
I will likely re-listen the series again. Such a great story. The one thing I have to say, and it is t just about book 15, is that in parts, especially later books, it became a lot more complicated to stay with it. Almost like, if you don’t listen properly for a few minutes or skip a few pages, you’d lose completely about what is going on.
The first half of the series was a lot easier to digest. But then again the story lines were easier and we didn’t have to deal with so many characters.
Anyway. Loved it.
