About this listen
Veteran reporter Jack McEvoy has taken down killers before, but when a woman he had a one-night stand with is murdered in a particularly brutal way, McEvoy realises he might be facing a criminal mind unlike any he's ever encountered.
McEvoy investigates - against the warnings of the police and his own editor - and makes a shocking discovery that connects the crime to other mysterious deaths across the country. But his inquiry hits a snag when he himself becomes a suspect.
As he races to clear his name, McEvoy's findings point to a serial killer working under the radar of law enforcement for years and using personal data shared by the victims themselves to select and hunt his targets.

Another Winner from Michael Connelly!
I am a big fan of Michael Connelly and his L.A. tales. And this lates book did not disappoint except for one little thing I thought was a little lazy at the end! If you read it I'm sure you will know what I mean!

it took me a while to get my head around jack again, it's been a long long time since the last full blown outing.
after this the storyline was great with some cool twists and turns.
highly recommended.
Great narration from both and a story that held me close to it .

Another Michael Connelly winner
One of his lesser known characters, but if your a fan you quickly remember him. A good story well told. Don't be disappointed it's not bosch or Ballard or Mickey haller but rejoice that the prodigal has returned. Good audio book extra on the end. Liking forward to the next Connelly book irrespective of the characters involved.

Excellent story with great twists.
Connelly is a great storyteller and this doesn't disappoint. Jack is definitely a dick but more of a total one rather than a private one. He's not squared away competence Like Bosch and in fact I laughed out loud at some of the stupid things he does. A constant mystery is what cool and competent Rachel sees in him but that is life! This story shows a progression from Poet through Scarecrow to this. Looking forward to more Jack in the future hopefully.

Fair Warning.
I have been a Michael Connelly fan for at least 20 years. I thought the story was really good. The narration however nearly spoilt it for me. Too much he said she said during conversation between characters. Awful. Surely an experienced listener can work that bit out.

Michael Connelly and Peter Giles are a dreamteam
Loved Connelly letting his journalist side shine in this novel. Amazed at the way he skillfully blends fact and fiction in such a thought-provoking way. He had me doing my own research into the topics he brought up as soon as I was finished with his book. This one will definitely leave a lasting impression.
Giles is officially my favourite narrator. Heard him narrate a few different characters now and his performance is always impeccable.

Best Michael Connelly book in years
I think I have listened to/read all of his books - Fair Warning is the best one in years. I literally ran further than I had planned to be able to listen to more of the book.

I have listened to all 4
The thing that stands out the most is how selfish Jack is and possibly all journalists, I knew most reporters were cutthroat but honestly I am not surprised they get punched in the face by celebrities and the police must have the patience of a saint dealing with the press. Still enjoyed the stories but much prefer Bosch.
