Summary
It all started with the bereavement flowers with my name on them.
Not the best way to wake up, right? I work in a flower shop. I know a funeral arrangement when I see one.
I know a killer when I see one, too. And one is standing in my hospital room right now, straight behind the man who saved my life.
I can’t tell anyone the truth, because that’s the fastest way to really die. So I do the next best thing. I “lose” my memory.
I fake my amnesia.
Pretending not to remember a brutal attempted murder has its perks. The killer is backing down, spending less time around me, loosening the noose.
The less I claim to recall, the more my rescuer, Duff, works to help me “remember”. I hate lying to him.
But he doesn’t understand that my memory is dangerous. To me. And to him.
Fooling everyone isn’t easy. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Except it’s starting to look like I’ve been fooling myself.
In more ways than one.
Read Book 1 in the newest series from USA Today best-selling author Meli Raine.
“...intrigue and dark humor on display in this thriller....”
While the immediate - and more compelling - tension in Raine’s (A Shameless Little Bet, 2018, etc.) heart-pumping series opener comes from Lily’s constant proximity to her would-be killer, the action takes place against a backdrop of secret government scandals.
Fortunately, Lily’s voice is captivating, wry, and tough enough to sell this thriller. The novel ends with a cliffhanger that startles, if only because readers will have become so attached to Lily. (Kirkus Reviews)
Praise for Meli Raine’s books:
“Fresh, riveting, and thrumming with emotion and romantic suspense, False Memory is absolutely unputdownable. You need this book!” (New York Times best-selling author Meghan March)
“I accidentally lost a day to this trilogy! It is unputdownable. Apparently I'm on a dark-and-twisty binge, and this book is addictive.” (USA Today best-selling author Sarina Bowen (Harmless series)

Brilliant
I loved this- I couldn't put it down.
A lot of the story is told through Lily's inner dialogue as she lies in a coma but is aware of the people and the conversations around her. The author builds up a great deal of tension as Lily realises that one of the people guarding her room is her attacker.
I was riveted! It was also obvious that this book is a spin-off from another series but you are given enough information to piece together the events leading up to the shooting.
It ends in a cliff hanger so I've downloaded the next book to see what happens next.

Wow
This one has been an absolute journey, there are a lot of twists and turns many that I couldn’t predict and a few that I did. I loved the characters and that this one has such a strong storyline. Will definitely be listening to the next book

Part 1 of a trilogy
Part 1 of the 'False' trilogy, False Memory is a contemporary suspense thriller.
We start with Lily in a coma, and follow the journey of her recovery from a murder attempt on her life. Not only does Lily have the challenge of recovering from her injuries and the effort this takes, but the man who did this to her is continuously hovering around.
This was a slow burn audio. There was plenty of tension, which gradually increased the further into the story we went. Lily fakes amnesia to save her life, but we know there is an ever present threat. The story concludes on a nail-biting cliffhanger. A strong start to the trilogy.

Edge of your seat thriller
From the very beginning, this series starter will keep you enthralled.
Who can Lily trust after an attempt on her life results in her being in a coma for over 12 months.

Great but……
Intriguing story though rather short. I can’t understand why it’s a trilogy. I’m sure it could have been put into 1 book. Not sure I want to use 2 more credits to find out what happens
