Summary
Enjoy heart-meltingly beautiful and toe-curlingly sexy romance in Tempted by Love, an emotionally riveting story about a man who has lost it all and carries a torturous secret, a divorced single mother who has everything to lose, and the little girl who helps them heal. Fall in love on the sandy shores of Silver Island, home to coffee shops, boat races, midnight rendezvous, and the sexy, sharp-witted Steeles.
In Tempted by Love:
Years ago, best-selling author Jack “Jock” Steele lost his girlfriend and baby in a horrific accident that drove a wedge between Jock and his family, keeping him from sharing a devastating secret. An aging philanthropist saved him from the brink of despair, and for a decade Jock cared for his ailing friend who became his family. Now his friend has passed away and left him a fortune - on the condition that he publishes another book. Jock is floundering, unsure how to rebuild the life he’d walked away from, much less find his muse, have another relationship with a woman, or even think about having a family of his own. But he can’t get his sweet, sexy new friend, single mother Daphne Zablonski out of his head, and her adorable toddler must know something he doesn’t, because she wraps her tiny fingers around his heart and won’t let go.
Daphne has been through the wringer with her ex-husband and doesn’t believe true love is in the cards for her. Friends she can handle, but letting a man see her mom bod naked? Especially someone as strikingly handsome and unbelievably sexy as Jock? No, thank you. Besides, she has a toddler to chase after and enough fictional boyfriends to fill her lonely nights. If only her book boyfriends could make her body tingle the way one look from her mysterious neighbor does.
As Jock and Daphne’s friendship turns to something too tempting to deny, their lives take an unexpected turn. Can a man who has lost everything find redemption with a woman who has everything to lose? And then there’s that secret....

Jock and Daphne!
Jock has endured a tragic loss that continues to haunt him so even though he has built a new life for himself he is not really living until a single mother and her beautiful daughter come into his life. After the pain he endured he closed himself off to love or a relationship, but they manage to breach the walls he has placed against his heart despite his intentions to keep his distance.
Daphne may have made the wrong choice when it came to her daughter Hadley’s father, but she wouldn’t change a thing as her daughter is her whole world. She is older and wiser now and determined to protect the hearts of both her and her daughter which is complicated by the fact that their enchantment with Jock seems to be one-sided.
This is an emotional story about love, family and new beginnings between two people who have both been hurt in the past in different ways. When Daphne learns about Jock’s devastating loss, she helps him heal by showing that he has no control over what could have been, but he does have the choice about what can be. The narrators did a great job of bringing the emotion and humor of the story to the forefront. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Getting to know the Steeles!
Well, I am ready to go to Silver Island! Melissa Foster has done it again. She has me falling for a new family and I love it! We have met Daphne previously, and her adorable daughter Hadley. A single mom, uncomfortable in her own skin. Jock is taken with her, but has issues with children. This won't fly in Daphne's world, Hadley is her everything. Will these two be able to jump the hurdles they face? There are some big ones to get over! I love that Melissa Foster does not only write fantastic romance, but adds relevant issues that are not glossed over. Her characters are flawed, and she lets us feel their pain and deal with the problem right along with them. This one is fabulous, and we find love, redemption, forgiveness and a new family to love, right down to grumpy Uncle Archer. It's a wonderful ensemble cast and I can't wait to hear the next one!
Brian Pallino and Jennifer Mack narrate this gem. These two can bring out all the emotions in their characters, making it sound like we are experiencing the story as it is really unfolding. I enjoyed both of their performances and look forward to more.

Fantastic book to listen to
We have known Daphne and Hadley for sometime now and Jock for a short time. Jock has a past and has been absent from Silver Island and the Cape after Harvey's death. But from the moment they met there has been sparks flying although Jock has always seemed reluctant to pursue a relationship .Hadley had no problem making it know who she loved, her Dock. From trying to fight is demons and realizing Daphne was the one he wanted he was able to start to repair his relationship with his family. And what a family he has look forward to reading more about them and the rest of the Silver island residents. I have also listened to this book and the story really comes alive with a great narration from Jennifer Mack and Brian Pallino.

Great Author!
When I first stumbled on this author, I didn't think I'd enjoy the books she writes so much. I thought they would be full of cringe and mushy stuff. I was wrong. The writing is great. I haven't found a single book by this author I haven't liked.

A Must Read/Listen
Tempted by Love by Melissa Foster is a contemporary romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Jennifer Mack and Brian Pallino. This is the first book in the Steele’s At Silver Island Series.
I absolutely love Melissa’s books. They always pull me in and leave a smile on my face. I loved the relationship between Jock and Daphne. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series My True Love to get Grant and Jules love story.
Jennifer and Brian did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life and I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would highly recommend this book if you love romance books. It will give you all the feels!!!

Tempted By Love
Tempted by Love is the first in the Steeles at Silver Island and boy have I have been waiting of Jock and Daphne’s story for what seems like forever!
In true Melissa style you are met with a host of wonderful characters with strong family and friend connections on Silver Island.
Daphne is a single mother to the adorable three year old Hadley – she is such a sweetie that you just can’t help fall in love with her, but Jock seems to have a hard time being around Daphne when Hadley is around making her believe that he has a problem with woman with kids.
That couldn’t be farther from the truth – Jock has a horrendously painful past in which he lost his girlfriend and unborn child, his story is truly heart-breaking and you can see the connection that he has with Daphne has him in a quandary.
This story made me go an emotional roller-coaster ride that I have come to love from Melissa’s books – and I can’t wait to return to this Island in the next instalment.

Tempted by Love
Oh man, did this book pull out every single emotion! I had annoyance, anger, sorrow, silliness, pain and the perfect happiness. There is so much to this story that keeps you hooked. I know this is a long book, but I listened to it all in one go because I just needed to see how it ended. Fabulous writing and just as fantastic narration! The little girl voice was perfect!

Sweet and swoony
This is such a sweet book only elevated by the two narrators of the audiobook, Jennifer Mack and Brian Pallino, Jack "Jock" Steele and Daphne have obvious chemistry (leapt off the pages) but his inability to be close to Daphne's daughter, Hadley, prevents Daphne from opening up to him. Past pain and hurt are the culprits and Melissa Foster masterfully details Jock's pain and eventual movement past the pain to live again. I loved the supportive cast- their family and friends are wonderful. I know that the author has many books across many families and while I've read (and enjoyed) many of them, I always realize after reading one of her books how many I still need to (and want to read). I swooned and smiled throughout this book and I look forward to the next book in the series.
In regards to the narrators of the audiobook, Jennifer Mack was fantastic. I smiled every time she adopted the high voice for Hadley, Daphne's daughter. I loved how she played all the characters, male or female, effortlessly. And Brian Pallino was also excellent, playing multiple characters so well and infusing emotion into these characters and their story. Overall, the narration elevated the story and I really loved both.

Sweet romance about second chances
I enjoyed this second chance romance. A single mom trying to raise her little girl and deal with the pain of her past and a single man still trying to heal from his tragic pain. Both of them come together to try and find a way to love again and heal. It was so touching to watch them take their cautious steps to overcome their wounds and learn to trust in the power of love and each other. The little girl was so sweet and added to the overall charm of this book. I love to see a man who is compassionate and willing to talk about his pain and reach out for help.
Overall the narration was very good and I really liked their acting.
This book made for a lovely Sunday listen!
