About this listen
Quinn Cartwright sees me as nothing more than her rival...her enemy. But I’ve been obsessed with her since we were teenagers. She's gorgeous and brilliant with a tongue sharp enough to cut glass...and she has no idea I love it as much as I do.
So when she needs someone to put a ring on it because of her a-hole boss, I marry her without hesitation.
We draw up a contract on a napkin. This marriage might be fake, but no one in our small town has to know.
She may never see me as anything more than a playboy, but sleeping in the same bed together night after night makes me want to put my skills to use and prove just how good this fake marriage can be....
Performed in duet narration by Joe Arden and Emma Wilder

So good
Book 3 in the Starlight Cove series is full of old rivals to lovers/marriage of convenience goodness. Quinn came back to town to hopefully buy the Dr's clinic from her fathers best friend, but turns out the guy is a misogynistic twat biscuit and refuses to sell his "family" practice to an unmarried woman, Ford is the flirty McKenzie brother, he has enjoyed not being tied down but when he is invited to an ex's wedding he needs a date to save face so these two former rivals decide to help each other out by getting hitched.
Ford has been/is obsessed with Quinn, he has always had a thing for her and since she came back to town that thing is back with a vengeance, this man has it SO bad for her I loved it! I loved the banter between them and Ford and the rest of the McKenzie siblings in this one, I really enjoyed how the relationship between Quinn & Ford developed and how supportive, understanding, protective and possessive Ford was, I lost count of the amount of times he referred to Quinn as "my wife" but every time he did I melted! Quinn has issues and insecurities thanks to her shitty parents and those cause some bumps along the way for these two but I like how the author made Quinn very self reflective and aware after those moments and she was able to see why she reacted the way she did and communicate that effectively with Ford.
If Brighton Walsh can do one thing it is write an MMC with the most delicious dirty mouth, so far each of the MMCs of this series have delivered what I was looking for in that particular moment, so thank you for that. Listening to the audiobook again was fab, Emma Wilder & Joe Arden were both great and I really enjoyed their performances. Another great addition to the series. 🌶🌶🌶
