Summary
Who could you trust if society fell?
Winter is in full force. Freezing temperatures and heavy snow present new threats. But there's more to surviving than just weathering the elements.
Out alone, James spots a man he recognizes from the compound. Does it mean they're being hunted down? Or is it mere coincidence?
Max knows his group is a target. There are people who want them dead merely for revenge. Others want their radios, their guns, and their supplies. He thought they were hidden, but he should have known better.
John and Cynthia were hoping Max's group would give them the security they've been craving. Now, with certain danger approaching, are they ready to make a final stand with their new group?
Fighting Rough is audiobook five of the EMP, a post-apocalyptic-survival thriller series. It deals with real people fighting for their survival every inch of the way.

I think I'm done now..
I thoroughly enjoyed the first few - but all too brief, books, having just finished book 5, Fighting Rough, I found myself guessing correctly as to what was coming next - new character joins the group - yup, they'll be dead soon, just became a little predictable. The constant tough breaks on the group are a little tedious now too.
I know the group will never discover why/what/how the EMP struck, but with previous books mentioning that some areas had working cars and others didn't, there was a good opportunity to expand on how an EMP may have unevenly struck. Also a few times I found myself questioning the research. Ok Ok, I know they're not meant to be really really serious books!
On a plus, I enjoyed the first person style of writing in that each chapter was from the perspective of a particular character, easy to listen to with a very good narrator, it was probably the narration the kept me in there! I was kept listening and often found myself waiting a long time to exit the car as I needed to hear how it played out.
Biggest crit - too short. I've done 5 books / credits in 10 days, these should really be as publisher packs, book 1&2, 3&4 etc. it would be much better value for money. It's been a welcome relief from my recent sci-fi overload but, I think I'm heading back there now, while I still have some credits left!
