Summary
A marriage forged in battle.
Alexei Dvorkin has come a long way since being turned into a metahuman, and all he wants to do is marry the man he loves. A wedding is easy, but it’s the honeymoon where his and Sean’s past unexpectedly catches up with them.
All Sean Delaney wanted was a romantic honeymoon with his new husband. When he and Alexei stumble into a fellow operative’s mission on a luxury gambling resort island, they get more than they bargained for in their newly-minted civilian lives.
Forced to choose between staying and joining the mission or leaving to stay safe and postpone their honeymoon, Alexei and Sean make the only decision they can—to fight.

Honeymoon Mayhem!
At last Alexei and Sean get Married. The ceremony is beautiful, moving and surprisingly enough for these two men, goes smoothly, without a hitch. However, the same cannot be said for their romantic honeymoon, where, even in paradise, they are beacons for trouble and
end up chasing Bennett Carter the ex CIA agent.

Yes please!
More of Alexei and Shaun? UM YES!!! I'm obsessed with everything about these books and this short is no different. Getting more of Alexei and Shaun from their Honeymoon was everything i wanted it to be. It was action packed, But with the fun of honeymoon sweetness. I don't think I will ever tire of them. Greg is as always amazing, there couldn't have been a better narrator for this series. He brings it to life so much

Delightful action-packed, honeymoon-themed novella
Alexei and Sean seem to attract trouble like magnets, and the situation they found themselves in during their honeymoon was no exception. It was so much fun to see another fast-paced mission go down, despite knowing it ruined their vacation. With a smaller version of the team back together again, it was easy to lose myself in the familiar rhythm of strategizing, bantering back and forth, and improvising when things went sideways. Add in a hefty dose of steamy bedroom moments, and this was a very enjoyable audio. Greg Boudreaux has been a fantastic narrator for the last several audios in this series, and this novella was another great performance on his part.

Honeymoon Woes
Fire in the Heart is the last book in the mini-novella Metahuman Files: Classified series but it’s really book 5.6 in the Metahumans Files series. This book should not be read on its own and is best read after In the Requiem (Metahuman Files book 5) and before In the Solace (Metahumans Files book 6). Reading New Horizons (Metahuman Files: Classified boo2/Metahumans Files book 5.5) is not necessary, but I still suggest reading that one since it’s so good.
Finally Alexei and Sean get married in a beautiful ceremony that fit them so perfectly. However, trouble follows them when they go on their romantic honeymoon, and even in the middle of paradise, Alexei and Sean must fight as Alpha Team. Although this is a short novella, Hailey Turner does a fantastic job of packing it full of emotion, romance, incredibly hot sex, and intense action. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and fully recommend it.
I read this book for the second time as an audiobook and it was just as fantastic as an audiobook as it was in print. Greg Boudreaux, who narrated the book, is a fantastic voice actor who has a real talent for bringing the story to life. I really enjoyed his performance and thought the overall audiobook production was well done.

Absolutely loved it!
Sean and Alexei have long been two of my favorite metahumans. I love Jamie and Kyle, but Sean and Alexei are right up there with them as far as relationship and dedication in my opinion. The duo have finally put the trauma of Boston behind them, and are set to get married and have their happily ever after. Yeah, right. There is no rest for the weary - or the newly married - and Sean's old enemies rear their ugly heads on the couple's honeymoon. Will Sean and Alexei enjoy their honeymoon or join the fight? If you've read/listened to any of the Metahuman books, you know the answer. This is a highly entertaining, action-packed, dramatic, high-stakes adventure. I loved seeing members of Alpha team temporarily reactivated to deal with old enemies and continue the fight to bring them to justice, and I love Liam's sardonic sense of humor.
The narration is excellent, as always.

Another round of two of my favorite meta humans!
I absolutely love Alexi and Sean. Their dynamic will melt your ears! Boudreaux once again brings us into Turner’s vivid writing. Hold your breath and hang on for a quick trip.

Great quick read/listen
The description of this audio says this is a standalone, but it’s a novella based on prior Metahuman books, so I really wouldn’t read it separately. That being said, it a great action packed story and a nice quick read/listen. Greg Boudreaux’s narration is terrific, as is usually the case. He’s got great pacing, clear and concise diction and a warm tone that draws you in. Definite great addition to this book.

Chaos, mayhem, and a honeymoon
What happens when two metahumans from Alpha Team want to get married? Well, chaos and mayhem, of course. The story begins with the bachelor party and all the members of Alpha Team are there. We move to the wedding and everything is progressing smashingly. But I knew it couldn’t last.
Jamie is paying for the men’s honeymoon on a luxury gambling resort named Fortuna-sur-mer. And everything looks to be hunky dory until Liam shows up. Yep, that Liam. The metahuman from Britain whose grandmother is the Queen of England. He shows up with Oliver from MI6 and I realized this was the set-up for the next book where the two men will, so to speak, square off. Anyway, Liam arrives on the scene with news there’s a terrorist on the island. Well, of course there is. So, as I said, chaos and mayhem ensue. But in the mess, Alexei and Sean come even closer together. Their bond solidifies. They are a true team. And Alexei makes a bet Oliver and Liam will get together.
I enjoyed this novella as it brought my two favorite characters even closer together. I mean, they had a mirror brought to their room. Sexy times indeed. I’ll mention Greg Boudreaux’s narration. He was made for this series and always hits just the right note. That and his accents are brilliant. So a good palate cleanser between the big books and definitely worth a listen.
