About this listen
After being a soldier, working as a bodyguard should have been simple: Keep the owner of DC’s ultra-secret club safe, don’t think about his midnight eyes or his devil’s smile, don’t surrender my body to his wicked desires.
But I underestimated Mark Trevena and the power of his dark, seductive world. I underestimated the hold he’d have on me, the way I would do anything for him at all. And so when he asks me to escort his soon-to-be bride home, I can only—miserably, broken-heartedly–say yes.
Isolde is nothing like I expect, however. Quiet and lonely and sharp, a girl who likes knives and God, a girl whose nightmares echo my own. One night while sailing under the cold stars, we share a reckless, tear-soaked kiss.
I’m doomed. Falling in love with Mark was one thing, but his bride too? Being in love with a husband and wife at the same time?
Torture. Misery. A tragedy if tragedies came with bruises, sweat, sighs.
But it isn’t enough to merely fall into the forbidden. Because in Mark Trevena’s world, the fall is only the beginning….

Wow
Such a great book.
Tristan gets a job as a bodyguard for Mark at his sex club.
The relationship between Mark and Tristan is so hot, developing into so much more and just when you think that, the story twists in another direction.
Learning about each of their pasts and then finding out about Isolde was such a shock but then everything changes when Tristan meets her and brings her from Ireland.
Is this by chance of manufacture.
I need the next book to find out.
Is Mark as evil as he says it is he good
We will find out in the next book
I can't wait x

a million stars for this one
I am slain! This is worth a million stars! Probably the most intimate and potent story I have ever listened to! This audio has altered my brain chemistry forever!!! What a story! What a narrator!
I mean, I adored getting to know Isolde in Salt In The Wound, but getting to know Tristan in this audiobook through Oscar Reyes interpretation is another level. This bird's eye view of Tristan's world is beyond intoxicating, it's drugging, addictive and mind blowing!
I have only listened to the story so can't comment on reading it, but I can tell you that if you loved reading Salt Kiss then listening to it will simply hypnotise you. You will believe you are there, seeing and hearing and doing everything, and I mean everything, that Tristan endures. It's beyond electric: its an aurora borealis for your brain.
Thank you Sierra Simone and Oscar Reyes for a book I will listen on repeat until Honey Cut becomes available

Great style of writing
Always love this authors books, the narration was absolutely brilliant. Till the next one!
I do feel the first 5 hours could have been more condensed and possibly added more of story to the end...
Well done Sierra, another great book. So glad I listened to the end..

Beautiful start to the series with amazing narration
I feel like I’ve been waiting for this book for a long time and it was so worth the wait.
Sierra Simone is a favorite. Has been for a long time. For many reasons, but one of them being the excellent and creative reimaginings of old legends. With stunning smutty and romance twists. Always a brilliant plot. And we have a lovely addition to the string of her works here.
I loved getting to know Tristan and Mark, I enjoyed getting glimpses of Isolde. But most of all, I am already shivery with anticipation of seeing more of them in the next books. Sierra’s books are so inclusive with the characters, I love that too. Secondary characters were lovely to get to know too.
Oscar Reyes though.. [Sigh] He stole the show for me. He made this book for me. I’ve already loved his performances from books like the Thornchappel series by Sierra, but I absolutely adored his solo performance on this one. Just excellent and I am now a lifetime fan.
Well done to both, the author and the narrator. Beautiful duo and I can’t wait for more.

Boring and too long
This was a bit disappointing, specially after the prequel. Whilst the previous book is about Isolde and Mark's relationship, this one is almost purely a MM romance with a heavy dose of explicit BDSM, showing us the story of Tristan and Mark (which happened a few years after he last saw Isolde).
There was angst, tension and there are plenty of secrets yet to be discovered. The entire book is Tristan's POV. Towards the end he meets Isolde and we get some very steam FM scenes too.
The narration was great, the book steamy, the story interesting (full and tension, angst and secrets). Still I felt quite bored and it was quite similar (in a way) to the American Queen series. So, not my favourite by a long shot.
