Summary

Georgia Pearce possesses remarkable psychic abilities. When she discovers an ancient dagger hidden in her workshop, she knows it can only mean one thing - trouble.

Trouble arrives in the form of Zak Goodwin, an entity more powerful - and definitely sexier - than any she's come across before. However, when a horde of dangerous vampires show up and threaten Georgia and her sister, she has no choice but to ask Zak for help.

Along with a shifter cop, a band of vampire warriors, and her own psychic skills, Georgia sets out to stop the awakening of an immortal vampire who has the power to destroy the world - and discovers that staying alive isn't nearly as dangerous as falling in love.

Contains mature themes.

Georgia is most annoyingly frustratingly painful

Great story concept, female lead was the most painfully frustrating annoying part of the story.

Heavens above !

I did not enjoy this as much as I thought I would . I found the characters a little predictable good versus evil . Georgia was a little weak and needs to be a little gutsy

A fun romantic adventure

I thoroughly enjoyed Georgia and Zak’s story. Georgia is my kind of woman not waiting around to be rescued, but managing to get herself out of trouble. Wonderful scenes of adventure, magic and steamy romance.

Where’s the world at?

4.2⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️& 2🌶️🌶️. I enjoyed this paranormal romance. The world building wasn’t the best, it kind of felt like we were just suppose to assume that it was normal in this world for folk to be “all sorts” ie vampires, werewolves and angel hybrids and such. Which is fine, I just like a little more thought provoking world building. I liked the characters but they were fairly typical. I do love an alpha mysterious vampire type male I’m not going to lie. And I did really enjoy this. I would like to continue the series at some stage and find out more about this world. I’m not sure if it continues with the same characters or not? Maybe we will get more details and twists to the world building after 🤷🏻‍♀️

Should come under Sci-fi erotica genre

I was looking forward to reading this, having already downloaded book 2 in anticipation. I actually made it to chapter 10 when I really couldn't listen anymore. Another reviewer mentioned the romance between Zak and Georgia, maybe the romance begins further into the books. What was being read sounded very much like sexual harassment, sexual inuendos, and sexual assault. An excerpt from chapter 5 (it being their 1st meeting) "Zak barely managed to stop himself from throwing Georgia onto the table and sheathing her, he usually took what he wanted when he wanted it" In Chapter 7 Georgia was feeling drowsy after Zak healed her the author uses the phrase "he took advantage". Chapter 9 Zak tells Georgia after healing her a 2nd time that any further healing will cost her and he's not wanting money. Eventually, in chapter 10, Georgia is at a bar and drunk, when she says to Zak that he'd take advantage if he could, he replies damn straight I would! A little further on after being told to F off, he pins her against the wall, so she's unable to move. I am aware that Georgia is a strong woman, and there is a sexual attraction between them both but I'm not comfortable listening to a woman being treated like this, I'm fine listening to books that have sexual content but this book is 40-50 years out of date and depicts predatory behaviour as normal. There is a specific genre where this type of storyline is expected, and it's not sci-fi & fantasy.

annoyingly predictable and disappointing 😞

I can't say I loved it or liked it. the heroine pisses me off at every turn. I get she's strong, but strong doesn't mean stupid. I hate books that depict a strong woman yet make stupid dumb decisions that cause everyone to fail and then blame herself for everything. not a good read at all.
