Lance Greenfield is Jamison and is the perfect voice for him. He has a teddy bear quality in his protective personality and his nuances are amazing. Avery Reid created Quinn with believable feelings that are easy to understand and relate to. I enjoyed these two together for this book!

Jamison is such a lovely, honest, thoughtful and faithful guy, his only problem, when he was younger he married V, purely to keep his friend from being deported. Little did he realise, years later, that he would be unable to get out of the marriage and that it would cause him to risk his own life in order to give the woman he truly loves what she deserves.
Quinn is stuck in a book editing job, despite writing her own books, she has never let anyone else read them. She bumps into Jamison whilst with friends and they are instantly attracted to each other, the perfect match, however her mother's nagging voice is in the back of her head 'don't be easy/don't end up like me, a mistress' and despite all the feelings she has for Jamison, she can't get her mother's voice out of her head.
What follows is a wonderfully written and extremely well narrated story of finding your sole mate and fighting to hold onto each other, Quinn has an emotional ride when trying to decide whether to give up her friends and job and move to be with Jamison and publish her books, only to discover his secret. The author takes us on a wonderful, emotional rollercoaster of a ride, full of feelings, values and passion as well as some unexpected twists and turns. I was close to tears so many times listening to this. I love how Maggie Cole increased the tension by having Jamison undertake a dangerous plan against a Colombian drug lord, you will have to listen to this yourself to find out what happened and if our characters manage to get the HEA they all deserve. One things for sure, the author is an expert at writing about love, heartache, passion and danger, I was on an emotional edge whilst listening to this and the wonderful narrators added that little something extra to the story. I cannot wait to rediscover the rest of this series that is now on audio.

I absolutely love Maggie's books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Jamison and Quinn. It was messy but I couldn't help but root for them. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series The Groomsman Billionaire so I can get Steven and Harper's story.
Lance and Avery did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like billionaire romances, forbidden romances, contemporary romances or romantic suspense.
