About this listen
Hockey is everything. My game, my team—that's all that matters. But an accident during the playoffs leaves me sidelined and puts my future in question.
With my teammates off enjoying their vacations, my only plan this summer is to heal and come back stronger than ever. No distractions. No babysitters. I want to be left alone.
Unfortunately, Everly Kent has never cared about what I want or need.
She barges in like a storm. Stubborn, sassy, beautiful. I don't want her in my space, but she's determined to take care of me.
Before I know it, she's under my skin in the best way possible and I'm bending all my rules for her.
Including one I never thought I'd break: falling for my teammate's little sister.

🏒teammate’s little sister
🏒age gap
🏒grumpy/sunshine
Forever Wild is the fifth book in the Wildcat Hockey series. Jack Wild is the Captain of the Wildcats Hockey Team. He was driving home on a snowy day and had to swerve and wrecked his truck. Due to his accident he has shut himself away from his friends and teammates. Everly is Tyler’s little sister. Tyler is one of Jack’s teammates and neighbors. Everly just finished college and was house sitting for several of the hockey players for the summer. She got asked to go and check on Jack. At first Jack was still being a grumpy towards all of the nurses and aids coming to help him out. Then Everly slowly started forcing herself into his life and brightening his sour mood. I really loved this book! I can’t wait to see if more will come from this series.
CJ Bloom and Sebastian York did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Jack & Everly
Grumpy Jack and sunshine Everly, the Captain and everyone’s little sister. Despite helping everyone, Jack does not want anyone’s help so when Everly is asked to help him neither is very happy. Their banter is everything and you can feel the chemistry in each and every interaction. What up until now was just an acquaintance relationship soon becomes an all consuming need for being with and seeing each other. We get to know the real Jack, the one he hides from the world, and we get to know Everly even better.
Sebastian York and CJ Bloom do an amazing job bringing out two main characters to life but also all the side characters.

Enjoyable Listen
This was my first Rebecca Jenshak book and found this to be an enjoyable listen. I enjoyed the tension between the characters and the love to hate vibe. The connection and their struggles felt genuine and loved them navigating their friendship to more. Everly had spunk and determination to make something for herself and loved how she went after a career and eventually followed her heart. Jack was rough but oh so tender with Everly once he started falling. A perfect mix of spice, banter, and angst.
Narrated in dual by Carly Robbins and Sebastian York. I felt they were well casted for this book and their voices worked well together and for these characters.

5 Stars!
Sweet, cute, fun, grumpy-sunshiny hockey romance that provided all the feels! 💕
Forever Wild is book 5 in the Wildcat Hockey series. We meet our MMC and FMC, Jack, and Everly. Jack is the Captain of the Wildcat hockey team and Everly is his teammate’s little sister. Jack takes his Captain title very seriously; not only does he lead the team on the ice rink, but he also takes care of his teammates outside of the rink. However, he doesn’t do well accepting help himself. When he gets injured, his slow recovery makes him extremely grumpy. His teammates become more worried about him and so Everly offers to check up on him as his teammates are all on vacation. During this summer, they begin to develop a friendship, and then a relationship.
At this point, I’ll read anything Rebecca Jenshak puts out because I really love her writing! I really enjoyed the way she wrote the emotions and banter in this. Both Jack and Everly were just such good characters. Jack was so grumpy/broody but in the best way. He didn’t want to bother his teammates even though he himself went far and beyond when helping them. This extended to how he initially treated Everly, but slowly she broke down his walls, and he opened up emotionally. And as they continued spending time with each other, they developed such a cute relationship. He was also soo supportive of Everly and encouraged her to continue pursuing her dreams and achieving all she wanted to. Meanwhile, Everly, the sassy queen that she is, was also soo sweet and caring. She was soo patient with Jack, but also stood her ground and did not let him close himself off. As mentioned, Rebecca Jenshak writes banter so well, and this, was no exception; Jack and Everly’s back-and-forth banter was on point! This also had some emotional moments, especially with Jack’s dad and his relationship with both Jack and Everly. The fact that Jack’s dad and Everly bonded over reading was soo cute! 🥹
Sidenote: I also loved how protective both Everly’s brother and the rest team were of Everly but also were not extra in their protection. It was the right amount! Overall, this was such a feel-good story and I was obsessed with Jack and Every from the first page. Their chemistry was off the charts. Forever Wild is book 5 of the series, but the first one in the series that I have read so far. It can be read as a standalone and not once was I lost, considering I haven’t read any of the previous books. I loved it so much, I’m about to grab the other books in the series and catch up with the series!
Wonderful dual narration provided by Sebastian York and CJ Bloom. They were phenomenal at bringing the characters and their story to life. York was perfect at portraying the broody and grumpy nature of Jack. Whilst Bloom was perfect as the sassy, yet caring and sweet Everly. Their voices really brought out the emotions needed to tell this story. Highly recommend if you love sports romances! 💕

Oh sweet angst
This was an angsty and emotional story. I absolutely loved the angst between Jack & Everly, and I’ve been waiting for these two to end up together since she moved in with her brother, Tyler. I love how she really pushed Jack past his struggles and helped him work hard on his healing.
These two have amazing chemistry and I love their banter.
There was a lot of personal growth for both of them.
The narration was absolutely perfect!

Everly & Jack!!
Rebecca Jenshak pulls me into this sports, brother's teammate romance and keeps me engaged until the last second! This is the last of the series and it's my favorite! Jack is the captain of the team and an unfortunate accident takes him out. Feeling sorry for himself, he is home, taking his recuperation into his own hands. Everly is his teammate's younger sister. When she's around, it's like oil and water. The two do not get along. But her snarky attitude and the attraction he has towards her is not helping when she begins to show up everyday. Determined to get him caring about himself again, and back on the ice, she is there under the guise of swimming in his pool. Little does he know her true plans. Witty banter and exploding chemistry drive this story, and I loved it! Everly is full of confidence and attitude. She is definitely motivated and her passion drives her. Jack is a bit broken, but with the right motivation, he can find a reason to get back to himself. It's a fun listen!
Sebastian York and CJ Bloom are the storytellers and together they are amazing. York is Jack, very broody, self centered and stuck in his life. Each voice gives a little change in Jack and makes him easy to love. Bloom is spunky and on point as Everly. She finds the essence of Ev, and keeps her real. I enjoyed these two as they brought this couple alive.

Perfect end to the Wildcats series
3.5 stars. This was such a fun, low angst listen. Perfect for anyone who loves an age gap, brother’s teammate, hockey romance.
I know that fans of the series have been waiting for Jack and Everly’s book. I’ll admit I wanted Jack to get his own story after the first time I met him in Wild Love. I just didn’t see Everly as his FMC after seeing her in high school in her brother’s book. There is an unspecified time jump between this and the previous books so that Everly has just graduated from college once the book starts and Jack is 32. I love how the age gap is written in that they recognize they are at different points in their life and have to work through that instead of being reminded over and over that she’s so young and he’s so old. Tyler also had one of the best brotherly reactions to finding out his teammate and sister were dating. All of the tropes in this book were handled so well.
If you haven’t read any of the other Wildcat books, or even any of Rebecca Jenshak’s other books, you can still jump into Forever Wild as a stand-alone, but there are so many fun Easter eggs if you’ve read her backlist as well as fun scenes with the entire Wildcat friend group.
I believe this is the last planned book in the Wildcats series and it does a nice job of wrapping up with the team, but there’s still one player we get to know more that I hope to see in a future series.
Narration: The audiobook is a dual narration by CJ Bloom and Sebastian York and I couldn’t think of two better narrators to cast. CJ Bloom does an amazing job as our fiery just out of college heroine and Sebastian York brings the broody and caring team captain to life.
