About this listen

How do you kill a dragon? For Lleland Seaton, Master of Philosophy, the answer is clear. Only a longbow is powerful enough to hunt such a terrible beast. But little is known about the fearsome creatures, so when Zachary Drake, along with his beautiful and intriguing sister Lydia, crosses Lleland’s path, it seems fate is on his side. Who, after all, is better to teach him about slaying dragons than the son of the famed dragon-slayer himself, Aaron Drake?

But things are never as they appear, and when Lleland travels to the Northern Mountains and the home of the Drakes in the hopes of learning more about dragons - and perhaps extending his acquaintance with Lydia - he embarks on a journey that will challenge everything he believes, forcing him to confront the truth about dragons, and eventually, the truth about himself as well.

I have been reading and listening to the Dragon Archives and, as a subscriber to the author's email list, enjoying free additional stories. Linda was kind enough to offer a copy of this audio book for review as I had just finished book 3, so here goes . . . The series has developed a variant of the dragon myth, in conjunction with a romantic fantasy element to provide a well written and entertaining experience. I have primarily read the print versions of the novels prior to this and was keen to experience the audio format too. Forever a Dragon expands the reader's knowledge of the dragons' development, both physical and relational, to enhance the experience. The narrator produced a believable and rounded performance, although I wonder whether a male narrator might have been more believable given that the story was presented from the viewpoint of a male protagonist. Overall, this book was, for me, a satisfying step in my progression through the Dragon Archives, and I am happy to recommend it to fans of the genre. Thanks to Linda and Jo for their creative efforts. I look forward to the next stories in the series

Really enjoyed this audio book

I loved how the characters came to life in the both the kindle and the audio versions of the book and I especially liked the narrator in the audio book, she did a fair range of voices to identify the different characters, and her voice was clear and easy to listen to through out.

I like the way that the stories unfold and they seem to be very nicely written and a whole new world where dragons are possible springs from the pages/stories.

This is the first of the audio books I have purchased but the 4th in Kindle version, I will be looking for more.

Kind regards and I look forward to more on the Dragon Series coming to life.

Dragon born or made

This series takes a turn with the focus on Aaron and Kira's now adult children and dragon hunters. Apart from the one twist to do with Lleland everything else was sadly but not surprisingly predictable. Lleland's character is unlikable, whiny and seems a very unlikely love interest for Lydia considering his dangerous beliefs and actions against her people. Due to this the story is not very believable.
