Summary
This is Lesson 1 (of 9) of the Foundation Modern Standard Arabic course.
Looking for a beginner language course that fits into your busy lifestyle and gets you speaking a new language in a matter of weeks, not years? Michel Thomas's unique method is designed to overcome the frustrations usually faced by language learners so you can...
- Pick up Modern Standard Arabic naturally and unforgettably without strain or stress
- Learn from listening and speaking, without the pressure of writing or memorizing
- Build up your Modern Standard Arabic in manageable steps by thinking out answers for yourself
For 50 years, Michel Thomas worked on decoding languages into their most essential component parts. These 'building blocks' are introduced sequentially so that you reconstruct the language for yourself - to form your own sentences, to say what you want, when you want. Within the very first hour you will be able to generate complete sentences instinctively, having absorbed the language and grammatical structures.
You will learn at your own pace, pausing and responding where necessary, and complete the 8 one-hour lessons in about 20-30 hours. By the end of the Foundation course, you will understand and have the confidence to speak basic Modern Standard Arabic. You can continue to review and practice with the additional 2-hour Review course before moving on to the next level.
What is next?
This is Lesson 1 of 9 of the Foundation Modern Standard Arabic course. The next lesson is Lesson 2 of 9 of the Foundation Modern Standard Arabic course. The full course is broken into eight easy-to-manage one-hour lessons. It is important that you complete the lessons in order. The Method is successful because it builds on the language you learn in each lesson and 'recycles' language taught in earlier lessons. Do not skip and always begin with Lesson 1.

Critic reviews
"The thrill is that you're actually figuring it out on your own. You're engaging with another language, not just parroting it... It's an excellent way to start, and leaves the listener thinking, Hey, Ich kann do dis." (David Sedaris, New Yorker, humorist and author)

Simply Fabulous! 10/10
As a total beginner I found this to be highly engaging and very do-able. It's a slow and steady pace and wonderfully satisfying, thrilling even to make such progress. I feel I've made a great start. This audible is very clear and comes with a pdf of everything covered in each of the tracks. The 2 teachers really compliment each other and work very effectively together to share their superb understanding of the language and how best to teach it. I couldn't recommend this more highly as worthy of your credits if you're sincere about learning spoken Modern Standard Arabic. I'm purchasing lesson 2 (there are 9 in total) right now.
Because my review of this product is, and is intended to be very positive I feel it necessary to declare that I have no connection of any kind to either the authors, publishers, distributors, nor anyone else associated with this product. My only connection to Amazon/Audible is my annual subscription and any additional credits I purchase. I am retired and enjoying life with the time to write an odd good or occasional bad review. I really appreciate other people's reviews before I make an Audible purchase and hence I take care that good or bad my own are honest.
In short, I really enjoyed it. If you're curious about this course you can try the first lesson and get a feel for whether or not the language and this particular course is for you at roughly the price of a large coffee in Starbucks or Costa depending what you pay for your credits on Audible.
