From this unhappy equilibrium the situation quickly deteriorates. First, George discovers he is dying of a mystery illness. Worst of all, George's neighbours start to disappear and all accusing fingers point towards George. This book is never going to be high fiction, but as a bedtime listen, it ticked all the boxes !

This story is laugh out loud with a brilliant choice of narrator too. I looked for the book on Amazon for a friend but it's not there it should be

I read this book years ago and it was one of the funniest books I have ever read. I downloaded it with Audible and I had forgotten how much I loved it. I love all the characters, even George, but far and away Ambrose stole the show. The narrator was excellent.

At 70 I can, and did, enjoy this book which was excellently narrated with excellent characteristics. The plot is convoluted and elements outlandish but drips with chuckles.
