Entertaining and insightful
Well written, enjoyable story about complex family relationships. The characters were well drawn although towards the end the plot became a little bit too close to soap opera. That aside, the sections set in Hong Kong were fascinating, revealing a culture and a time in our recent past we don't get to hear about. The performances were great too. Can't wait for Wiz Wharton's next book!

A Wonderful Book
Loved every minute of this book. Brought back so many memories as I lived in Hong Kong from 1978 till 1999. Such a wonderful story. Than you so much.

A truly wonderful book
This is the kind of book you’re dying to finish but also never want to end. So rich and immersive, interesting and thoughtful, hopeful and sad - could use endless words to describe it and all of them would be positive. The narration was also excellent.

Amazing book
I really enjoyed this audiobook. The journey back and forth through time in both England and Hong Kong before and during the handover telling the tale of a family is beautifully written and one I shall enjoy again and again. Thoroughly recommend.
