Stone Age stone cold classic!

Who can’t love Ian Mckelllen’s narration?! The near fact he has narrated all the series is a testament to how good these books are.
The story is captivating and carries you along for a thrilling ride.
Torak’s world is fantastically real, well researched and therefore very believable. Wolf’s ‘thoughts’ are equally believable… his character is a well crafted mix of wild animal and human friend.
It is not a difficult read … don’t expect highbrow literature … however this makes it really accessible for adults young and old. Perfect to listen whilst dog walking or houseworking! Even older children can listen as there is no racy stuff, modern bad language nor too much gore. Just plenty of peril, supernatural mystery and excitement. It’s a true ‘adventure’ series.

An enthralling conclusion to a great saga.

We held our breath and waited to see if this book could match the high standards of those which preceded it. It was worth the wait, and yes it does come up to standard! As beautifully crafted as before, and impeccably read by Ian McKellen, this is an extremely fitting conclusion to the series.
Torak, Renn, & Wolf find themselves in terrible danger from the remaining Soul-Eater. his tokoroths and the deep magic which the Eagle Owl mage commands. All the clans are threatened, and Torak finds himself fearful to even enter his beloved forest. Dark Fur and Pebble too play their parts and in the end all must make a decision, for as Wolf knows 'No wolf can belong to two packs'.
The final outcome is not without sacrifice on all sides but provides perhaps the most rewarding conclusion to what has become a truly classical piece of writing. The six books stand shoulder to shoulder with other recent classics, including Philip Pullman's much lauded 'Dark Materials' trilogy.
Generations of children will read this series, or listen to Ian's spectacular readings and will be drawn into Torak's world. For this is a world which we can believe, smell and touch, and serves as a reminder to all of us that if we kill our forests, mountains, rivers and lakes, our world too will be consumed by demons.
Thank-you Michelle. Your switch from lawyer to story teller was well worth it!

Fabulous end to the series

I have loved all of the books in the series and honestly didn't want it to come to an end. But this concluding storyline made getting to
the end of the book a pleasure

Fantastic

Another brilliant story by Michelle Paver, read superbly by Ian McKellen as only he can. I would recommend this series of audiobooks to anyone, they might be written for the young ,9 and over apparently but I’m in my Sixties and I’m listening to the whole of The Chronicles of Darkness series. Wolf Brother is the first book, give it a try, you won’t regret it !
