Summary
Sun, sea and a sizzling romance...the perfect holiday, right? Wrong. Going Greek is a fun, fabulous and completely laugh-out-loud summer listen perfect for fans of Carole Matthews, Jenny Colgan and Sophie Kinsella.
After a work party gone disastrously wrong, Samantha suddenly finds herself jobless and jilted. So when her sister invites Sam to stay at her little whitewashed farmhouse on a Greek island, Sam leaps at the chance to escape. Before long, she’s trundling up the cobbled driveway, almost colliding with sexy neighbour Spyros. It isn’t all sunshine and smiles though. For every afternoon spent lounging by the pool, cocktail in hand, there is a morning spent adjusting to life with boisterous six-year-old nieces. When Spyros invites Sam to explore the island with him she’s tempted, but with his carefree, live-for-the-moment attitude, he couldn’t be more different to Sam with her five-year plans and high-maintenance hair. One drink, as friends, couldn’t hurt though?
Critic reviews
"This is definitely the book for a lazy summer afternoon. Full of family, friendship and great descriptive writing about Greece.... I felt I had escaped to a beautiful tourist destination while enjoying the Greek food and hospitality.” (Prima Magazine)

suprisingly lovely, feel good, Easy listening.
Main character is a middle class female, late 30's. Not bitchy, No swearing, Modern but with manners, Found it a very comfortable listen whilst working, felt like I was in Greece, living a day by day account of someone's life from city to countryside. Would have liked to hear more history and the names of flowers, it was a little simple but for a freebie this was, a lovely story. No wild, ridiculous or negative plot lines added for cheap thrills. A comforting, feel good story.

romantic catchy story
The performance was very good, giving voices and tons for every character that helps you following a dialogue who is talking at every moment. the greek accent is not accurate, but difficult to play for an English speaker! Easy story. Too girlish and full of topics from my point of view. very understandable from the narrator if you are not English native speaker as me.

Bored
Sorry but after Sue's last Greek Actually book, this is a total wash out. Quit at chapter 10. The main character is me me me I, I, I... There's not enough going on.. It's too similiar to other books.. It's just horribly boring and the London accent drilling on.. I rarely give up but... I did!

It did not keep my interest🙄
Sadly, I could not really get into this story.
Even though I listened to the whole book, I found it boring that Sam has to leave England because her tv career was down the toilet, all because she had a one night stand with a man who forgot to tell her he was married.
Going to Greece to visit her sister, brother-in-law, and twin nieces was supposed to make it all better but I thought she was running away from her problems and actually running into more problems that Sam created plus everyone knows that you can't live on holiday!
The narrator Rebecca Norfolk did her job very well 👍
I am so relieved that I didn't waste a credit or lose money as this book was FREE to listen too through the Plus Catalogue included membership but personally I don't recommend this listen 🌠
