About this listen

From the best-selling author of Dumped, Actually comes a laugh-out-loud story about saving your job...and maybe saving the planet in the process.

Meet Ellie Cooke. When it comes to all things environmental she’s, well, a bit "green". It’s not that she doesn’t care about things like climate change and plastic pollution, it’s just that life has always got in the way of that sort of thing.

But when the PR firm Ellie works for is taken over by keen environmentalist Nolan Reece, it’s clear that if she wants to save her job, she’s going to have to get serious about being green—or face being recycled.

Going green is no walk in the park, though. It involves a lot of big changes, tough choices...and at least one case of accidentally showing your knickers off to your boss.

Can Ellie do enough to save her job, and maybe do her bit to help save the planet while she’s at it? And what will Nolan think of her, now that she can’t stop thinking about him...?

proper LOLs

haven't listened to such a funny book in a long time. there were moments that were so horrifyingly cringeworthy I was actually blushing for Ellie.

the narrator was brilliant and her impression of the Bandy, the protestor had been hooting with laughter... (listened at 1.35x speed)

disappointing, but enjoyed the end

I had to spread this up as was finding Ellie just stupid and annoying. the situations created for her story were just ridiculous and so unbelievable they lost any humour. how old was Ellie supposed to be as she came across as a ditzy young girlie.
I did chuckle now and again but not nearly as much as I have to previous yarns by this author.
the ending was delicious though, and a firm point added for that.

A laugh with a message

Very few books make me laugh out load but this book did. Ellie's antics are very funny. Although it's pushing of green issues is now disguised, it does make many positive statements about this and what each of us can do.

Bridget Jones of today

A successful 'Bridget Jones of today' type of storytelling that's fun, easily to listen to, and made me chuckle frequently :)

I finished it really quickly, and would seek out others from the author off the back of enjoying this one so much.

Another brilliant book

One of my favourite authors. Easy listening with a brilliant injection of comedy and calamity.

Incredibly Funny

I listen to audio books all the time, especially when walking the dogs. I ended up laughing out loud with my two four leggeds looking at me like I was far crazier than normal. We've all been in Ellie's positron where we go from one extreme to another and I highly recommend this book if you want a good laugh and to go green...er!

Funny story with a message

We get a different kind of hea here. This book, like other Nick Spalding books is hilarious and some of the preposterous situations and dialogues are so insane you can do nothing but laugh.
Here Labour a PR company employee that lies through her teeth in order to look like she is an environment warrior and, as consequence keep her jpb. As always, things don't quite go to plan and we are treated to some hilarious exchanges and ridiculous situations. A funny book with a message.
Narration was excellent.
