Summary

Twelve-year-old Joe Warden isn’t happy. Sure, he’s rich, but his parents don’t care about him. His grandmother should make everything better, except that Joe’s granny is a nightmare. She’s not just physically repulsive, she’s horribly mean. Everyone thinks she’s just a dotty old woman, but Joe knows the truth. He’s seen behind her mask and glimpsed the wicked glimmer in her eyes – she is pure evil. And now she’s out to get Joe, unless he can stop her and her band of nasty grannies first.

'If her perfume had a name it would be called Decomposing Sheep'

Very amusing and creatively expressed
- brilliantly narrated - because the story was so entertaining, wished it had been longer.

Granny!

This was a brilliant story, I enjoyed the narration very much and the storyline kept me going all the way through. Definitely gonna get more of Anthony Horrorwtiz's novels

Perfect bedtime story

If you could sum up Granny in three words, what would they be?

Classic Horowitz!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Because of its length, it's easy to (re)listen to 'Granny' as a bedtime story (possibly spread over two or three nights, depending on how much of an evening person you are).

Any additional comments?

Unique imagination and wit is what makes books by Anthony Horowitz a very safe choice. It was my first Audible purchase, but I immediately adored Nickolas Grace - his voice was perfect for this story!

very thrilling!

Extreemly humorous, light hearted and very lively this book is not only creatively written but it is also suitable for young as well as old readers.

Only a genius like Anthony Horowitz can pull this off!

Good Story but hasn't aged well

Loved this book when I was younger but listening now I find myself focusing on the negative character descriptions. Lots of fatphobic comments that just show the mindset of the time it was written. Still a great story overall with lots of humour but reinforces negative stereotypes about certain groups of people.

Fat shames kids and grannies

Not right for all kids. Wish folk would stop copying Roald Dahl, some kids will enjoy.
