Summary
We are all touched at some point by the dark emotions of grief, fear, or despair. In an age of global threat, these emotions have become widespread and overwhelming. While conventional wisdom warns us of the harmful effects of "negative" emotions, this revolutionary book offers a more hopeful view: there is a redemptive power in our worst feelings. Seasoned psychotherapist Miriam Greenspan argues that it's the avoidance and denial of the dark emotions that results in the escalating psychological disorders of our time: depression, anxiety, addiction, psychic numbing, and irrational violence. And she shows us how to trust the wisdom of the dark emotions to guide, heal, and transform our lives and our world.

Brilliant Book
I can’t recommend this highly enough. I really resonate with her perspective or maybe she resonates with mine? Really well put together and full of great exercises to help you implement what you have learned. Great reference book I’ll probably buy a physical copy it was so good I’ll want to keep coming back to it
I didn’t rate the ‘story’ as it’s a non -fiction book. Would be great if audible could sort their ratings out and make them appropriate for non-fiction - most of what I read is non-fiction.

Interesting, but feels like something is missing
Interesting book, gives different examples from the life of the author but I found that there was not enough "how to" information. How to accept those emotions or maneuver them. Also there were a bit too many religious references, but they did not stop me from understanding the context for the most part. After finishing this book I was left with a sense that something was missing.
