About this listen

When a relationship with a narcissist ends, the caretaking partner is often left confused, deeply hurt, and often still emotionally connected, while the narcissist seems to easily move on to the next relationship. Healing from a Narcissistic Relationship offers guidance about what to expect as the relationship unravels and how to cope with the fallout. It also helps the reader learn to truly disengage and move through the grief process.

Presenting techniques for healing and rebuilding self-esteem and self-confidence, this book offers a guide to developing emotional strength and encourages forgiveness and reconciliation with the past. It shows the reader how to increase emotional self-protections, quit caretaking in relationships, and become more independent and self-loving. Using real stories, Margalis Fjelstad offers a process of healing that can direct the reader away from former patterns of inequitable relationships and toward loving, caring connections that can truly grow healthfully and flourish. It shows that ending a relationship with a narcissist may be the best thing that ever happened.

This book has been my absolute saviour after coming out of an extremely toxic and narcissistic relationship. It breaks every down and helps you make sense of everything and see things from an entirely different prospective. It gives you tasks and so much guidance on how to move forward with your life and regain self confidence and empowerment whatever your current situation. I have learnt so much about myself and I am so grateful to of found this audible.

Amazing

Very much enjoyed this book and the guidance it gives. allowed me to identify where I stood and who they were.
My only complaint is the reference to the narcissist is always "him/he". It should have been left as a generic, as I have just left a narcissistic woman who destroyed me and I'm not the only one out there in this situation.
Aside this I would recommend it to anyone who was invisible and left to suffer.....to realise it wasn't you.

they were a narcissist

This could not have described my seven and a half year relationship better. A complete understanding of how the narcissist operates and how the victim stays through hope for change and a refusal to give up and the vision and the person.
I went through the cycle over and over always wishing for a different outcome. There never is.

The best book I’ve read on this subject

Found it hard to listen, as it rung so true.

Great help

Great listen and very helpful for someone suffering from the effects of a life with a narcissist and how to heal for the future.

Full of amazing facts

I enjoyed this audiobook, and found it helpful. I however struggled all the way through when the narcissist was to referred to as he/him all the way through. Narcissism is not exclusively a male disorder, speaking as a victim of a female narcissist. With this said it is reassuring to know that there was probably very little I could have done to change anything in my personal circumstances.

Helpful, but wrong direction

hard to listen

it uses the term him contasntly which made the book completely unrelatable in my situation. would give less starts if I could. This book also seemed really negative as far as I got without any positive response to even it out, couldn't get far enough to give it a longer chance because of these two reasons

it uses the term "him" constantly, unrelatable.
