About this listen
Number-One New Release in Romance
The number-one New York Times best-selling author of Verity and It Ends With Us delivers another breathtaking novel with a magnetic suspense that will keep you glued to your device.
"This book deserves a whole galaxy of stars, but alas, five is all I can give." (Shades of Rebecca)
Life and a dismal last name are the only two things Beyah's parents ever gave her. After carving her path all on her own, Beyah is well on her way to bigger and better things, thanks to no one but herself. With only two short months separating her from the future she's built and the past she desperately wants to leave behind, an unexpected death leaves Beyah with no place to go during the interim.
Forced to reach out to her last resort, Beyah has to spend the remainder of her summer on a peninsula in Texas with a father she barely knows. Beyah's plan is to keep her head down and let the summer slip by seamlessly, but her new neighbor Samson throws a wrench in that plan.
Samson and Beyah have nothing in common on the surface.
She comes from a life of poverty and neglect; he comes from a family of wealth and privilege. But one thing they do have in common is that they're both drawn to sad things. Which means they're drawn to each other.
Beyah and Samson agree to stay in the shallow end of a summer fling. What Beyah doesn't realize is that a rip current is coming, and it's about to drag her heart out to sea.

Omg….couldn’t stop listening!!
Wow….I was gripped to this story from the first sentence!
I don’t read the synopsis on Coho books anymore as she is THAT good!
I didn’t know what to expect and yet again she didn’t disappoint!
Character development was fantastic…could listen to the story continue AMAZING and a very apt ending too!

Sobbed 😢
Love Coleen Hoover and she didn’t disappoint with this book either. It was such a lovely story of heartbreak in all shapes and sizes, would highly recommend.

Not her best work
Love Colleen normally but this book was obvious and childish.
I think it would be ok as a teen/starter book.

🎧 Samson and Beyah 🎧
A meandering story that seems to just end it up alright in the end. Underwhelming compared to any other Colleen Hoover story I've read/listened to.
The narration dragged a little, which added to the feeling of ennui the story evoked. Nothing actually wrong with the narration, but the tone of delivery had my mouth turning down, so it gave the whole story a sad air, even in the rare good times.

Predictable
No surprises here! A tortuous love story, filled with angst, and a very predictable ending. Sadly, the tale was not enhanced by the narrator who managed to maintain a dramatically depressed tone throughout.
