Summary
If you want to discover the captivating history of the Holy Roman Empire, then pay attention...
Two captivating manuscripts in one audiobook:
- The Holy Roman Empire: A Captivating Guide to the Union of Smaller Kingdoms That Started During the Early Middle Ages and Dissolved During the Napoleonic Wars
- The Carolingian Empire: A Captivating Guide to the Carolingian Dynasty and Their Large Empire That Covered Most of Western Europe During the Reign of Charlemagne
Throughout the story of the Holy Roman Empire, a wealth of fascinating tales from interesting people proliferates. Monks and emperors will clash, poets sing the praises of kings, and the pope rides blind and bareback on a frightened donkey through the streets of Rome. The mightiest monarch in all of the world walks barefoot in the snow in repentance for his angry deeds, and two rival families stand toe-to-toe for the monarchy. Crusades are lost in war and won in diplomacy, while kings are held ransom, revolts are suppressed, and antipopes crowned.

Exhaustive and Interesting
This is an exhaustive if the narrow, study of not even era ascent and drop of figures within the Roman Empire. Highly academic and consumed with minutia, this not swords and sandals, and Shakespearean speeches.

Solid but not too much comprehensive
"A Captivating Guide to the Holy Roman Empire and Carolingian Dynasty" is a well-regarded book. Still, I would not recommend it because its not that much comprehensive; you can try it.

The Holy Roman Empire the subject that I have bee
The Holy Roman Empire the subject that I have been long fascinated by, though I hadn't known much about. I was looking for a long history and how it came to be. There is something to learn but not as my liking.

Needs facts not details.
This audible provides an irresistible amount of facts about a long period in history. But it lacks on general description. The junk of facts do not give one a large depiction of what was happening.

A long and complicated history
The book is excellent, but very long (about 7 hours) and a bit complicated too. You have to love your subject to get through this book — still, valuable content to post four stars to it.
