About this listen

The fast and highly effective way to stop cravings, end addiction and recover energy and happiness without drugs.

This groundbreaking book from the UK's leading spokesman on nutrition looks at why millions of people have cravings for substances such as coffee, sugar and alcohol, as well to drugs such as sleeping pills, antidepressants, marijuana and cocaine. It uncovers how the brain becomes addicted and how it can be 'unaddicted' through a combination of diet, supplements and lifestyle factors.

The book is written in association with Dr David Miller, who has worked in the addiction field for 25 years and is an expert in relapse prevention. It looks at each of the most common substances that people become addicted to and offers specific advice on how to tackle that particular substance safely and effectively yourself.

In-depth yet practical and accessible, How to Quit Without Feeling S--t will allow you to understand why you feel the way you do, whether you have a dependency or have already given up but still feel lousy.

Critic reviews

"Having plugged into this with the pessimism I reserve for most self-help manuals... I was amazed to find myself feverishly making notes about the supplements I should be taking - tyrosine? Chromium? Magnesium ascorbate? - to make life without cigarettes bearable." ( The Guardian)

One of the most informative books I've bought. Writing notes as I go and going to try out a scientific approach to my personal needs.

I was an opiate user for over 20 years. Listening to this audio helped me understand how my brain works on opiates and how to quit without feeling s@#t. This book gave me the help I needed to stop. I owe so much to this book.
If you're thinking of quitting, I would recommend listening to this audio and taking the vitamins suggested. Believe me, they do actually work.

This book changed my life

Yet another great insight into the world of health! An insightful journey that shows the impacts of additction and how it effects the functionality of the human body and brain, how it responds and from that it can literally form our personality/spirit. Ive tried some of the suggested steps and will aim to do them all as already it seems that my outlook has literrally changed from I cant to I can!
Audible Books Brilliant! I love to listen the passion of the Patrick talking the talk of the walk he walks!

Although the author is very easy to listen to if you are unfamiliar with nutritional supplements you will need to make notes or refer to the website where there are downloads. As the recording claims you can quit almost any addictive substance from sugar to crack cocaine by taking a handful of vitamins, amino acids, etc. that cost only about ?2 a day, it really has to be worth a try. Note the author stresses that severe drug and alcohol addiction does also require medical and group support. I've quit caffeine already after two weeks of following the program, something I've been trying to do for years. I have also noticed a big change in how I feel generally I think because as the book suggests the program is about normalising your brain chemistry, after which you can stop taking most of the supplements.

It works

Information in the book is really empty. It's like the writer decided one morning he will create an audio book, read a couple of articles and recorded it improvising it. I genuinely was looking for assistance with my smoking addiction and eventually after purchasing and going through it neither solved my addiction nor felt satisfied with my purchase of the book. I know this opinion is a result of my dissatisfied ego but I also hope it helps the author in improving his crafts in the future!

I wasted a credit on this one
