About this listen
Hungry as the Sea is an enthralling story of revenge, adventure and romance from best-selling author Wilbur Smith.
'Nick went head down, finning desperately to catch the swirling body which tumbled like a leaf in high wind. He had a fleeting glimpse of Baker's face, contorted with terror and lack of breath, the glass visor of his helmet already swamping with icy water as the pressure spurted through the non-return valve. The Chief's headset microphone squealed once and then went dead as the water shorted it out.'
Robbed of his wife and ousted from his huge shipping empire, Nick Berg is hell-bent on vengeance. It is the sea which gives him his opportunity. When his arch-rival's luxury liner is trapped in the tempestuous Antarctic, Nick stakes all to pit his powerful salvage tug, the Warlock, in a desperate race against time and the elements....

Tug Sea Rescues
Found parts of the book too detailed and technical for my liking. The first Wilbur Smith book I’ve not absolutely loved sadly.

Sea disaster
This book was very exciting and it made me think about how much seaman are at the mercy of the sea. Also the care and the attention that needs to go in the construction of ships, Cheep is not the best.

Gripping storyline about a subject I knew nothing about prior to this book
Ric Jerrom is hopeless narrating women's voices. His voice was my standout bugbear. Very unfortunate when the storyline was so good

Amazing story of power and money
A story of greed and power taking over common sence and gives an insight just what people and country's will do regardless of the consequences, a powerful story which should grip you to the end.

Listened to the end because I have to.
Wilbur Smith as usual. You know the main characters and what to expect at length.

A little outdated Hungry as the sea
I am South African and always loved Wilber Smith, but somehow this was a little too much, maybe because I have not chosen one of his books for a long time and out of cinque with Wilber’s writing style.
Still no one of the greatest.

Chapter list missing
I enjoyed this book very much. My only complaint would be that there was not a chapter list . On a couple of occasions I pressed the wrong button and it took me ages to find out where I had been listening previously.
