Summary
In Boyfriend Material, Luc and Oliver met, pretended to fall in love, fell in love for real, dealt with heartbreak and disappointment and family and friends...and somehow figured out a way to make it work. Now it seems like everyone around them is getting married, and Luc's feeling the social pressure to propose. But it'll take more than four weddings, a funeral, and a bowl full of special curry to get these two from "I don't know what I'm doing" to "I do".
Good thing Oliver is such perfect Husband Material.

Encore
A very welcome sequel. Luc, Oliver and the cast are all welcome returns to Audible. A well developed cast support probably the most romantic couple in their continuing story. Joe Jameson once again nails it - a fantastic actor who develops the characters throughout. Roll on Father Material. Bravo and encore.

Loved the ‘complicated’. So much better than the usual romcom.
I loved the way Luc and Oliver’s complex and complicated personalities were drawn through their relationship within a framework of love that transcended the norms. The ending was perfect and very fitting. I don’t understand why some readers/ listeners didn’t like it. How could they have expressed their love and the strength of their relationship more strongly? Or more ironically, indeed? Very clever.

Not what I'd hoped for
I had just listened to Boyfriend Material for the third time before launching myself directly into this one. Joe Jameson is a brilliant narrator!
But sadly I have to say that I'm mostly disappointed about how this sequel turned out.

Enchanting addition to the series
Sweet, witty and incredibly performed by Joe, the story of Oliver and Lucien just got better. Great addition and I was pleasantly surprised there will be more to come!

Very funny, but also intricate
I have listened to this audiobook twice. The first time because I loved how funny the first “Boyfriend Material” was, in its silly and crazy way. And I didn’t enjoy it as much as the original story. I thought this continuation wasn’t as funny as its predecessor was, and with too many angsty moments.
However, when I decided to listen to the two books once more in a row, I realised that, actually, I enjoyed this part quite a lot, because not only it continued being really funny and had memorable hilarious moments, but was also much more complex than I realised. Maybe because the first time I was just expecting to simply have a laugh at the situations and characters.
I find, now, that this book is worth a very good review, because it is not just angsty, but deepens in really complex relationships.
I loved the new dialogues, being my favourite the conversation between Luke/Lucien and his ex-friend (now only ex-boyfriend’s friend.)
The narrator makes, once more, a wonderful job, catching the right tone, giving the right pauses, keeping the wonderful accents. It is now impossible for me to read the book without having these same voices in my head.
I totally recommend this book, especially if you liked/loved the first book, and would like to have a bit more in this follow up.

Excellent sequel
Great to listen to, built up from the 1st book very nicely and I really enjoyed the development in their dynamic until the last second.
