About this listen
I can’t sleep.
Not since June 16th, 2018.
Not since what happened....
Traumatised by the events of her past, exhausted by insomnia, Becky Braithwaite believes that a new start will help her to recover.
She leaves home to fulfil her brother’s dreams, and honour the life he never had…but she soon finds that escaping from the pat is not as easy as she imagined.
Is her fatigued mind playing tricks on her, or is danger really lurking in the shadows?
This unpausable psychological thriller will keep you listening to find out the truth.

Gripping read
Many twists and turns throughout this book. The narrator did a fab job and made the listen easy. Highly recommend.

Cool thriller
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author via StoryOrigin (thank you) and am voluntarily writing an honest and unbiased review.
Firstly, I have to say that first person "psychological thrillers" are not usually near the top of my preferred genres. So many titles say things like "If you liked Gone Girl" (I didn't), "you'll love this" which I often don't. Something about this one sounded like it might be more to my taste and the reviews were mostly positive so I gave it a go and I'm glad I did.
Is it "A Gripping Thriller"? Yes. Will it "Keep You Awake at Night"? Um, no, not in the slightest.
The story has a good pace and the main character is believable. Bits of the past are revealed slowly as the tale progresses and it's a little creepy in places while also being ambiguous about whether strange occurances are really happening or all in her mind. The ending was not what I expected and was a bit shocking.
The narration was excellent. The last few british books of this type that I've listened too have all been read with a very "posh" upperclass british accent which doesn't really appeal to everyone, me included. By contrast Kate Parry reads this with very appropriate down-to-earth regional accents which match the tone and writing style of the book perfectly.
I enjoyed this and would recommend it.

Good story
I enjoyed listening to the audio version of this story. It is a psychological thriller that has you wondering what will happen next throughout. It is about a girl who has insomnia, due to circumstances in her past. She goes to uni hoping for a fresh start but things start happening to her. The ending was surprising. The narrator was good. I would recommend this story and will look out for more from the author 👍🏻

This was amazing - so well written and narrated
I really enjoyed the story, not sure on the hype, but it was really good but the narration took it to another level. I just loved the epilogue what was true and what wasn't. Really well done.
Will definitively be on the lookout for more.
I was given an advance copy by the author and storyorigins but the review is totally my own. Just really enjoyed it.

Unlikeable main character but great narrator
I was given a free copy of this for an honest review. It reminded me heavily of Sebastian fitzek’s nightwalker which for me felt like a much more rounded and likeable MC. The MC in this really annoyed me to be honest. She wasn’t very likeable and there wasn’t enough explanation for her rash behaviour. Usually if a book is written from the POV of a victim, you’re drawn in with feelings of sorrow and anxiety for them. With this she wasn’t a nice person and as a result I didn’t feel a fondness to her or her ordeal at all
