Summary
Discover the Japanese secret to unlocking your purpose, productivity, and passion in life!
- Are you struggling to find your "true calling," feeling adrift without a clear sense of direction?
- Does procrastination or a lack of motivation prevent you from accomplishing your goals?
- Has your growth been stunted by self-doubt or a fear of failure?
Indeed, failure is the unfortunate result of most endeavors. Eighty percent of New Year's Resolutions fail by February. For many people, surrender feels like the easiest option.
But what if I told you that the Japanese have found a solution to your goal-achievement problems?
In this audiobook, we'll reveal three concepts from the east:
- Ikigai - A strategy to discover one's purpose, meaning, and "true calling" in life.
- Hansei - The ancient art of honest self-reflection.
- Kaizen - An incrementalist approach to goal achievement developed by Japanese engineers and scientists.
When combined together, each methodology can improve your productivity by a factor of TEN!
You will learn:
- What it takes to discover your personal ikigai (your "true calling" in life), so that every step you take is in harmony with your deepest passions.
- The secret principle that makes the chore of "habit-forming" easy.
- How to REALLY focus on your work goals, enhancing your ability to tune out the many distractions of life.
- How to achieve the coveted "flow state"—the mental plateau of peak performance where creativity thrives.
- And much more.
It doesn't matter if you're a student, a busy mom, or an entrepreneur. All of these techniques will apply!

An inspiring read
I live this book. Four different words that you probably know the translation for but didn’t realise how it applies to your life. This was so easy to read and so thought provoking. I thoroughly recommend this book.

Brilliant, excellent mindset reset
Have listened several times these past few days and passed on to friends. Trying to implement the principles, would love to see how I get on and perhaps write a review post implementation of principles. Great voice over, easy listen. Only reason for rating 4* is because I'd like to put the principles into action and see the results for myself.

Content useful - short and to the point
A reminder about self-reflection, taking responsibility and how small incremental changes lead to major transformations. In places a bit basic but still it's things we forget / ignore for all kinds of reasons, some obvious and some hidden, which is the whole point.
Not keen on the reader and a pet hate of mine - every indefinite article 'a' was pronounced 'ay' rather than 'ah' - began to sound ridiculous in some of the sentences!

Practical and insightful
I read this book as a follow on from another book about Ikigai. I am new to the concept and discovered it whilst looking for guidance about how to bring more peace, satisfaction and success to my life without travelling at frantic pace and feeling like success in one area of life required disappointment or compromise in others. This book has made me think differently and I’m already feeling the benefit. I’ll be looking for more books from this author to help me continue this practice. Many thanks and best wishes to the author. Karen
