Summary
Top 100 Sports Romance Bestseller
Confession time:
My name is Noel Sandlund and I play professional hockey-defense to be exact.
I lead a pretty good life. I'm not hurting for money and the ladies seem to like me.
And now things have gotten even better - I think I may have fallen in love.
See, while I was in Sweden playing in the world hockey championships this off-season, I met Maisie Troy.
And, man, she's it for me.
Confession time:
I'm Maisie Troy.
This summer I met a man who's everything I've ever wanted and more.
His name is Noel and he's hot and sweet and plays amazing hockey.
I think he could be the one.
Too bad there's one huge problem - I'm not who he thinks I am.
No, I'm just an illusion.
An illusion that's about to shatter...like ice.
Illusion on Ice is the seventh novel in the bestselling Boys of Winter hockey romance series.

Noel and Mais
I have to say that I did not like Maisie at first. The author did a great job redeeming her but I felt like she was taking advantage of the good guy. That being said, the writing was good and the narration was on point. Good story.

Illusion on Ice
Overall I enjoyed the story but I think that Maisie was a bit too immature and I really felt that what she did was underhanded (although what would the story be without the deception). I thought Noel was a sweet character and completely lost for Maisie but Avie Paige's male voice could have been a bit better. Her pacing was well done and the characters were very distinguishable.

Opposites attract
I liked this book. For some reason it felt a little immature, not sure if it was the writing or the narration. It’s hard for a girl that comes from the trailer park to believe a rich hockey player would want to be with her. Good characters and goof narration. HEA. I recommend this book.

Illusion on Ice
This book reminds me so much of a Cinderella story! Stuck in a place so far away from home with no idea of how you will get back and yet luckily enough to find your perfect other half. Another great book with fantastic narration!

Fantastic storyline!
I feel like I should first mention that I have not read or listened to the first 6 books in this series. I obviously know I’m missing some of the secondary character’s stories and their background. While I’d love to listen to them at some point, I don’t feel like not knowing their stories took away from me enjoying the story of Noel and Maisie. Don’t tell anyone, but I’ve never read SR Grey before. I obviously know now that I am missing out! Her writing is incredible. I really felt their story and their immediate attraction that quickly went deeper than surface level. I feel confident that I’ll be watching for more books from this author but especially books that belong to the Boys of Winter series.
Avie Paige is a narrator that I’ve listened to with a few other audiobooks. I like her voice and her narration just fine. I do prefer her dual narrations more than her just heading up a double POV audiobook. That being said, I didn’t dislike the narration due to a female narrating both POV’s. It’s just not my preference but even saying that, I really enjoyed the story itself so the narration was just kind of reading to me instead of bringing the story to life for me.

It’s not a Illusion of a great story
Book 7 in the series. It can be listened to as a stand alone It’s a great love story. The characters that S.R . Grey wrote are strong , determined and loyal . Nothing comes easy .
Hero is Noel. Heroine Maisie.
Both Maisie and Noel meet in Sweden and it was for a purpose they both needed saving .Maisie was in a bind she needed to find a way to the USA . Her mother was heartless and just left her there with no way home . When she meet Noel , Maisie knew she found her way to the States . Noel was in Sweden for a tournament that Team USA was playing. Once Noel meets Maisie he knew it was for keeps. Only thing is once at States ground Maisie wanted to run Does Maisie leave or does Noel make her stay .
Avie Paige Performance was great. Her voice is strong , clear and strong.

Good hockey romance
The book started with showcasing how and why Maisie was stuck in Sweden. (Poor Maisie). Noel saw Maisie at the bar and felt insta-lust. Maisie initially saw Noel as a means to an end but ended up falling for him. The story was cute- low angst generally. I wasn’t a huge fan of what Maisie did which made it difficult for me to identify with her, even though I get why she thought she needed to do so. But generally, I thought she was a pretty immature character throughout the book. However, Noel was a wonderful, sweet character who made the book a fun listen.
I received this book from #AudioBookObsessionReviewer. In terms of the audiobook, Avie Paige did a good job but it was a dual POV and it would have been better if there was a man playing Noel. I didn't particularly gel with her male voice but I think overall, she did an admirable job. Overall, she had good pacing and it was easy to tell when she was playing Noel vs Maisie.

Enjoyed it
Illusion On Ice by S.R.Grey is the 7th book in the Boys of Winter series. This hockey sports romance was a sweet easy read with some bumps along the way and I enjoyed it. I loved Noel, he was such a caring, generous sweetheart, Maise took a little longer to warm up to as I thought she was immature, but she did grow on me in the end.
The audiobook was narrated by Avie Paige. I enjoyed her narration and her portrayal of the characters were distinguishable.

A quick fun read. Not my favourite in this series or this genre. But enjoyable enough.
