About this listen

Without so much as a warning, humanity in its entirety was suddenly moved to another dimension. Every person, without exception.

But this new world, with all its opportunities and gifts of wondrous abilities, was a stadium. A deadly arena of an unimaginable scale. And humanity was to be its latest gladiators. Every man, woman, and child was given a weapon and ordered to fight. Stuck in this dimension without a way out, only two options existed for the would-be hunters: Fight with monsters to complete the many trials ahead, or perish.

Faced with hordes of powerful monsters, thrown into battle with complete strangers at random, the unfair game of survival began. And from the very beginning, billions of lives were extinguished in mere moments. But even within this abyss of despair was a small ray of hope: If even one person were to complete every raid, then humanity would be redeemed and restored back to its former glory.

No save points, no revives, no retries. Everyone had just one life to make their way through the gauntlet of raids prepared to test their mettle. Within this marathon of death, one man becomes aware of an exception to the rules of the game.

really needed a new gold standard heart racing story. just loved it. all of the things u want the main character to do, he does. it just goes exactly where u want it to. cant wait for book 2.

Pretty decent return to the past type story, all the hunters being stuck in in separate instances between raids seems a bit cruel but adds to the story

Pretty decent

awesome

I don't necessarily need the main character to be some kind of genius, but that assumes that there's something else going on in the story. this book has literally nothing except the main character facing fight after fight. there's no overarching plot or meaningful character interaction, just fight fight fight and prep to fight, so there needs to be some depth to that aspect. unfortunately all the mc ever really does is declare his latest power up will allow him to easily beat the next few raids, despite the fact that he always says that and always struggles.

dnf it's just too dumb

I gave up with an hour or so left. Nothing is explained. The MC is not likeable in anyway. One of the very few audiobooks I've given up on.

Awful

Other than the narrator's good performance there's not many good things to say about this title.
There's no plot to drive the story, just the next battle or "raid". It explains nothing about its world. Our protagonist is as two dimensional as they come and the litrpg system is never fleshed out. The entirety of the book can be watered down to: The protagonist is op, next hunt, the protagonist is op, next hunt, the protagonist is op but also brushes off some secondary characters, next hunt, the character is op and also buys an op weapon.

If you want a mindless, power fantasy, video game-like story of battle after battle with a protagonist that's always too cool for anyone, and a story that never takes away from the fighting.. This is for you.

Bland and aimless

there are a loooot of books out there with systems and leveling, i have over 350books this is the worst one i have found. Do not waste your time here

no character development, no world building no system underpinning the world, no sidenplot or side characters. there isn't really any point to the stats given or any real point to his decisions. the chatacter doesnt use 7coins early to "save" but earns more than 2k coins in the next chapter making the decision poinltess. lots of internal inconsistencies.

the character is barely even challenged except in word "this is very difficult to do by myself"...proceeds to do the thing byhimself in 2 short paragraphs.

action isnt bac but is also lackluster. narrator is food though. There are much better reads of the same genre such as systems of the apocalypse or dungeon crawler carl. measuring this against them, this is lackluster in both story and action.

very mediocre
