About this listen

There can be no victory without sacrifice.

The Iron Wolves are a company of legionnaires whose legendary exploits date back to the Savage Wars. When they are invited to be guests of honor at a ceremony on a small, backwater planet, they look forward to some precious time away from the constant conflicts of galaxy's edge.

But when a neighboring country invades, disrupting the ceremony and killing innocents, the Wolves are forced to make an impossible decision. Aid a people pleading for their protection...or obey the cynical orders of their senate to stand down and see how the dust settles.

Taking their careers and lives into their hands, the Iron Wolves and local militia form a brotherhood determined to fight for what they believe in. War is on the wind, the battle is at hand, and the Legion is on the move once more.

Strap on your bucket, grab your blaster, and start listening today. The Iron Wolves call, and death is on the hunt.

Lots of fun

A bit of savage fun & frolicsome military action as we escape to a backwater world where a small contingent of Iron Wolves take on an Alien Warlord Wannabe.
The goos guys even have their on Wookie.

JD does it narrative justice with marine “hoorays” thrown in for good measure.💪

Mediocre for a GE story

Not their best work. The narrator was not great. His "yelling" inflections were poor to the point of grating. I wanted so much more for a supposedly legend legion unit. Also, the awardee character was an afterthought, as though they forgot why they were writing this until the last chapter? Very off brand from such an interesting and varied writing team.

It just lacked substance this time. Somehow I expected more from this series. You just cannot compare it to the others.

Not the best…

The story was engaging enough but what almost got me switching it off was the performance, I can understand that the narrator was trying to put passion into the performance but I found the ‘shouting’ and ‘drama’ off putting.

On the character front, the I drew similarities with the female lead and Star Wars…her name was very close to that of Han Solo, she has a large hairy sidekick that communicates by growling which only she can understand and her ship/boat was called Eagle…

Trope city

I know the creative process is hard. I do it for a living. I can’t in all honesty let this lazy, trope riddled mess pass muster. I love the Galaxy’s Edge books. But this offering leaves no obvious stone unturned. All the low hanging fruit is picked and consumed with such gusto it results in verbal indigestion. Sorry but this is undiluted arse Gravy of the first water. Can I have my money back please...

It’s not great

Felt like I was forcing myself to listen to this book. Story was poor, banter wasn’t great, the plot I worked out from the start...just not good.

Going to return book and listen to the next one...because all of he other books I have listen to in the galaxy edge series so far have been very good.
