"It’s funny, it’s daft-yet-relatable, it’s still a nerve-jangly thriller and it moves at a cracking pace. In fact, if you’re stuck in a bit of a reading rut, it’s just the palate cleanser you need.” (Emerald Street)
"This one is even better than the one before. Buy!” (John Lenahan, best-selling author, magician and voice of the toaster in Red Dwarf)

Great humour
I loved the mix of social misfit characters. I was hooked on page one, although not what I would usually go for I enjoyed every minute. I seem to have inadvertently started with book 2 so will immediately buy books 1 and 3. I hope the author is busy writing more so I always have another to look forward to. Loved the narration, too. Great job!

Super writing
I found it a bit difficult to get into the first book, almost as if I was joining a group conversation halfway through. But once I got with the flow, I quickly became a fan of Christopher Shevlin's writing and the excellent narration. I've listened to all three books in the series and I'm looking forward to number four.

Awkwardly hilarious!
This is thoroughly relatable. All of us are, in some part, Jonathons, wanting to be Lance. Made me laugh a lot!

More please!
I am so smitten with these books. Lovely story, fabulous narration. Genuinely funny and utterly charming.
Delighted to see the author is writing a 3rd book. Just wish he'd get a wiggle on. If Finlay doesn't narrate that one too ... well, I will sulk.

Excellent, Clever, Witty.
Very well written and narrated. The characters are well formed, or at least their numerous character flaws are well explained in a sensible time, and as in any well written work you find yourself identifying with several of them. The plots are, whilst not up there with the twisty turny greats, more than sufficient to act as a vehicle for the characters to get into and out of some delightfully ridiculous situations. I’m not going to spoil the plot in this review. This is good fun, you need to concentrate to some reasonable degree to ensure that plot nuances aren’t missed; however, it was a pleasure to read and is high quality escapism. Think of this as being a similar ride to reading to Richard Oman’s Thursday Murder Club as and you won’t be disappointed. Probably. I mean, this is just my opinion and you don’t know me so you will have to make your own mind up. I’m not taking the blame if you are a humourless misery and think this is a stinking pile of dung that you have wasted the price of one and three fifths of a pint of cider in your local pub in buying this book. Right, that’ll do. Bye.

Oh...Um...
Warning! Do not listen to this book in public, people around you will stare at you as if you are insane because you keep bursting into laughter every few seconds. Anyone for whom life is perfect might not agree and find Jonathon Fairfax a ludicrous creation with absolutely no connection to reality. For the rest of us, we will recognize him and his world immediately. I listen to a lot of books and few of them engage me and make me want to keep on listening as much as this did. Hilariously (and I really mean that overused word) funny and also containing some great elements of genuine suspense. And then there's Finlay Robinson, who manages to interpret and deliver every word perfectly and with a rare sense of comic timing which makes him an absolutely essential part of the Jonathon Fairfax experience.

Funny sweet and engaging
The second in the series and all the characters are still well observed and the story is fun and surprising. Such a refreshing book and beautifully narrated. Definitely worth a listen
