Great classic - don't believe the cover
What made the experience of listening to Journey to the Centre of the Earth the most enjoyable?
It's an excellent classic that doesn't need the mugshot of Brendan Fraser to sell it as I guess the movie version has far more added to it. It is simply a journey of adventure without the hype or constant technicolour explosions.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Journey to the Centre of the Earth?
The first encounter with life below the earth
Which scene did you most enjoy?
don't want to give the game away!!!!
If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Nothing like the film :)

Helps me nod off to sleep. Ignore the cover art.
I must have listened to parts of this audiobook so may times that it would be well worn out by now if it were on cassette. It seems to be very effective at helping me drift off to sleep! Poor old Jules Verne might not have been very happy about that fact.
This novel resists the tendency to go into the drawn out lists that are included in his other works. Perhaps his publisher forgot to give him a minimum word count for this one.
I find Simon Prebble is very well suited to narrate this story.

Guerning to the centre of the earth!
Good old romp in true Jules Verne style. Beware Fredrick Davidson, who narrates. He is a some what acquired taste and his camp, arrogant drawl will set some people's teeth on edge. Recommend the story but avoid this narrator!

Classic Tale
Jukes Verne is your far one of the greatest writers of all time. The story of the Journey to the Centre of the Earth is one such tale of impeccable quality and imagination and so well spoken in this audiobook

Good
Pretty good book, if a little slow to get going. I liked the description of Iceland.

ignore cover art
I thought this would be a movie scripted version of this book as the cover suggests, it wasn't.

an excellent fantasy story
an excellent fantasy story clad in as much "fact" as to ease the reader into the impossible world that Verne describes with great sensitivity.

meh
Never seen the film so went into the book completely blind.
I fell asleep on my first listen, so gave it another try.
I really wish I hadn't bothered as it almost put me back to sleep again.
It is indeed a journey to the centre of the earth. But is not a journey worth listening to.
The narrator was decent so props to him for getting through that book

Wouldn't say "the "Centre"
An old timey tail of a grown man and his uncle, doing the usual nephew/unclely stuff of spelunking with a rando skando until they're completely desiccated.
