About this listen

Summary

Maggie Walsh hasn’t been sleeping these last few nights - a maniac has been preying on single mothers just like her. She keeps thinking there’s someone in the house, imagining she hears something downstairs. Until tonight, woken once again by a noise, she checks on her baby and this time it’s not just her imagination - someone has come for her, armed and ready to kill. And Maggie knows that whatever happens now, she will do anything to keep her daughter safe.

About the audiobook

Richard Parker combines a gripping race against the clock with a most unlikely game of cat and mouse in his latest visceral chiller. When the stakes are so high, who can trust whom? It starts with a shadowy figure climbing through a window. Or does it? Where did it all really begin? And how can it possibly end well - for anyone? Even fans of Harlen Coben and Linwood Barclay’s tales of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary events will find this take on a twisted buddy movie like nothing they’ve heard before.

About the author

Keep Her Safe is Richard Parker’s sixth stand-alone novel - his earlier work in television has led to a run of cinematic thrillers which grab you on page one, tighten their grip with every chapter and don’t put you down till the final chilling minute.

Liked the characters

I liked the characters and it was gripping. The story wasn’t quite believable though but all in all I enjoyed listening

Really awful

This was a really bad choice. Ridiculous story, laughable lines, wouldn’t have bothered listening to it all but I had a really long car journey.

Odd and not believable

This was an uncomfortable listen. The book doesn’t seem to flow somehow and the women and their actions and thoughts are masculine, not really reflecting a mothers full range of emotions, even though this was the topic of the book. The topic is shocking, and could have been a good thriller but somehow just doesn’t work.
