Sadly disappointed with this one. Having listened to many of Simons other books I had high hopes for this one, yet the first half of it had the feel of copy and paste from his earlier novels. It did pick up second half but when compared to others it’s like he’s rang this one in

I love Simon Kernicks books and having read just about every one he's written but this one i just don't know. The plot was Ok but i felt it could have been told in a much shorter book, even Paul Thornley who i think is teh best narrator ever seemed to struggle reading it. Worth reading but not Simons best. I do look forward to his next one though! Smiles:

I am shocked to say that this is the first of Simon Kernick's books that I've not enjoyed. I struggled to finish it, if I'm honest. He usually writes, foot to the floor, hang on to your hat...this was more 'Driving Miss Daisy' Time to look for a new favourite author?

Not one of his best I'm sad to say!
