Summary

Rain, the proud and haunted Fey King, risked everything to follow his heart and his destiny to Ellysetta - his truemate, his love, the woodcarver's daughter who possessed miraculous gifts she did not understand. He defied the nobles of Celieria to claim her, battled demons and Elden mages to wed her. And now he must protect her - and his imperiled kingdom - with magic, steel, and scorching flame. For his soul-kin, the magical tairen, are dying, and only the Fey King's bride can save them... if Rain can help his beloved embrace the magic within her and forge the unbreakable bond of passion and power necessary to save her soul.

Good continuation

What made the experience of listening to King of Sword and Sky the most enjoyable?

Its a great story - the middle book of a 5 book series and doesn't disappoint.

What did you like best about this story?

Good plot that holds interest. If you got this far you will also enjoy the final 2 books in the sequence. The story is fairly predicable but there are some good twists.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Emily Durante?

Yes - I already have as she also narrated the remaining 2 books after this one.
For some reason many reviewers on the US site are really unhappy with her but I thought she was better than the previous 2 narrators. She took a bit of getting used to and her male voices aren't brilliant but at least the timing and expression were much better

Excellent book

The narrators voice was a little broken at times . A little difficult to listen to at the beginning but I soon got used to it . The story was of course amazing .

Really poor narration

There has been a change in the narration from the first 2 books and this narrator has the characters sounding so effeminate that I cannot bear to listen and spoils the story for me I will probably return the books with her narration. I have read these books about 10 times as I love them and whilst it took some getting used to the first books worked better than the last and I cannot see me buying the rest of the series in audible which is a shame

The narrator is absolutely horrendous

This series is one of my all time favourites but I'd rather listen to a computerised voice reading it than this narrator! Far rather...in fact, I've returned all 3 available Audible versions & bought them on Kindle; I already own the paperbacks. The voices she uses for the characters are truly awful and not even the emotion comes through as you'd want - the FMC whines ALL the time. The other accents are like caricatures. I'm truly sorry to sat this about favourite books of mine. :-(
