Stop thinking about it and just read it!

Engrossed from the start, I really enjoyed the pace and characters in this well written book. Unexpected connections gave me a few moments where I had words with not only myself, but the brilliant protagonist too!
I genuinely cannot wait to start the second book and hope there will be a few more to come. Although you could read this as a stand alone, I simply have to have more.

This was so easy and nice to listen too. Great performance from the narrator.

Tell everyone about this book because it's a thril

I really enjoyed this book. It had so much going on and plenty of twists to keep you hooked. What I really liked was the main character, Charlene is a tough, strong policewoman not afraid to ask the difficult questions but is also human with her own personal flaws. The plot was well written and mostly concentrated on the mystery but gave you just enough home life/back that it help brings Charlene to life and a really likable character. I hope this is just the first book of a long running series because it is good enough to be on the big screen.
Charlene having just buried her father is assigned her first case as an LAPD homicide detective the murder investigation of Ken Anderson a collage professor with a hidden past. Ken is married to a rich man's daughter and the top brass put pressure on her to close the case quickly. The problem is the 'celebrity slayer' is contacting her claiming to be responsible for her father's death. But her father was a retired policeman not a b list celebrity, why would the killer target him? Charlene believes her father was close to working out who the killer was and using his notes Charlene hopes to piece together the clues he left behind to find the killer herself and without the bosses go ahead. Can Charlene solve both cases before it is to late? The killer has other ideas he has plans for Charlene.
I liked narrator and thought she did a good job with all the voices, even the ones that called for accents.

Great murder mystery book

I was sent this audiobook in return for a review, but an honest review is what they get.

I really enjoyed this book! The story was well written, had good twists that weren’t easy to guess, but were easy to follow after the reveal. The heroine was very believable and I really got behind her and wanted her to find the killer.

I love these kind of novels that keep you guessing and leave you wanting more. I’m hoping there are more in this series as the characters were very engaging and realistic.

I would definitely recommend this novel if you enjoy murder mystery books especially as police thrillers or with female lead characters.
