About this listen
A dead colleague isn't the best way to start a semester, or a romance.
Although Sheridan Hendley is not a sleuth, when her colleague is murdered, she assists the detective in gathering information. As Sheridan draws connections among the people in Adam’s life, she realizes many women have a strong motive for murder. As information leaks out on Adam’s exploits to college administration, she’s charged with creating sexual harassment training. Slashed tires are the first indication that her curiosity and involvement in the investigation is making someone nervous. The murderer is afraid of what she might have found. In the meantime, as she works closely with the handsome detective, she hopes for romance in her future. Meet Sheridan Hendley and her friends in the first of five cozy mysteries.

Very enjoyable.
This is a very enjoyable book. The story is well written, with likeable characters, an interesting background, a clever plot, and a sweet romance. Alyssa Baumann’s narration is first class.
A wonderful series starter!

Nothing cold about this book
I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed this author's original series featuring Sheridan Hendley, so it was a no brainer that I would enjoy this one just as much. I did have to check that it was the same character and yes we have gone back in time to before she was married or I joined the series out of order. Either way I really enjoyed listening to how Sheridan met her husband. The characters haven't changed and are still like able as well as capable and caring. The mystery was good with so many suspects, I would have named the killer if pushed but it would have been a guess. I enjoyed the small town college feel of the book as it made for an interesting setting and gave you an insight into what teachers face everyday, well maybe not the murder. It's just a nice easy to listen to cozy mystery with a little bit of romance mixed in. I can't wait for the next one.
Sheridan is surprised when an ambulance turns up at the leisure center just before the new school year is about to start. When she is tasked with the job of assisting the police, she realize it is something more than an accident and it happened to somebody she knows. A fellow professor from her department has been murdered. He was a notorious ladies man and the more the police question the staff the more Sheridan fears one of her friends might be accused of the murder. Sheridan is in the perfect position of working out who the killer is, knowing the people involved so well. Can she find the killer and keep her friends out of jail or is talking to the police just putting a target on her back?
I liked the narrator. She had a pleasant voice that was easy to listen to.

Cozie Mystery.
I love Christas books and this one does not disappoint, it is well written and very well narrated by Alyssa Baumann. The characters are well developed and I can't quite work out if Sheridan Hendley is the same as the private sleuth in the previous excellent series bearing her name. No matter, this is a good Cozie mystery set in a scholastic scenario with plenty of suspects as to who murdered the womanising master. Highly recommended listen. *****

A wonderful cozy, fun mystery. Sheridan is a professor at Cold Creek College. Just as the semester is about to start one of her male colleagues is murdered. He had many different relationships with a many women. I loved the that Sheridan meets a handsome detective called Brett.

Light mystery with great characters.and narration
I really like these characters and.it.is great to meet them earlier Sheridan here is working as a college lecturer when one of her colleges is murdered and she meets Brett for The first time. The story is light, well written and with an excellent climax. The relationship works well between the leads from the start. I look forward to listening to more of this series. Ayssia Baumanndoes a fine job with the narration and is easy to listen to. I received a complimentary copy of the Audio book and am leaving a honest voluntary review.
